If we're a nation built on the right to dissent, those who suggest modeling that for the world is not only unimportant but *wrong* are included amongst those from whom America must be defended.

Imagine controlling the entire government of the United States and still having such a whiny-ass persecution complex.

When I wrote Section 230 I did so knowing it would be critical for protecting free speech online. 30 years later and it’s one of the last things standing in the way of Republican censorship of the internet. Here’s to many more years of defending this vital safeguard of free speech.

The Parent Persecution Complex is so fucking whiny.

You're not being excluded from public life just because people expect you to not let your crotch goblins indiscriminately terrorize and destroy everyone and everything around them.

The Olympics are, overall, very boring but people seem to not want to admit that

Never buy TravelPro luggage. They don't honor their warranty.

When you file a claim, they say they don't have the part needed, but they "want to make it right" -- not by replacing it, but by "allowing" you to buy a whole new bag at a paltry 15% discount.

Total scam.

Here's a thing you could do instead of buying a book from an independent bookstore on Spotify:

Get up off your ass and **GO** to a local independent bookstore.

Here are two favorites to start you off:

Chicago - Unabridged Bookstore (Lakeview)

DC - East City Bookshop (Eastern Market)

Yea I dunno maybe it isn't the best move for an organization founded to fight against fascism and support democratic ideals to appoint someone from Palantir—probably the company doing the most to enable a fascist surveillance state—as its new CEO.

Absolutely every behavior people offer as "proof" that their phones are listening to them 24/7 is 100% explainable by cross-site pixel tracking and location services! We have known for years that ad networks do this!

It's a really remarkable thing that this sentence could be written within the lifetime of people who can remember when the smallest computer took up a room and paper punch cards were the method of data storage and retrieval.

Truly a wonderous time to be alive.

S.O. looked at me like I had completely lost my mind when I unpacked that 1500° salamander broiler, but I ask you this:

How else are you getting this kind of sear when it's 15° and windy outside?

Checkmate, loverboy.

There's an easy way to abolish (probably most of) ICE coming right up: keep the government shut down until most of them have to quit because they can't live without paychecks.

Ship this asshole off to Nuremberg.
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

Every day makes clearer that ICE and CBP are the type of domestic enemy that every federal employee swears an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States" against.

I expect every single law enforcement officer of any kind to be willing to die rather than risk killing a person unnecessarily.

Anyone who does not like that tradeoff should not seek to carry a gun on behalf of the government.

It's really that simple.
