Moral panic around e-bikes is getting out of control.

The assemblywoman proposing this bill is quoted in the article saying she has concerns abt people riding "30,40, even 60 mph" -- those are not e-bikes! Those are e-motos!

Not every city has a massive waterfall in it but Paterson NJ does, and now we have an even better way to view it thanks to this sweet newly-upgraded pedestrian bridge! I am looking forward to my next visit!! www.nj.com/passaic-coun...

We have heard DOT and law enforcement officials say this here, too.
One of the more disturbing sections of the city's report on right turns on reds : they say that banning right turns on reds will lead to worse safety because drivers will be impatient and kill/injure people due to being inconvenienced.

We can't seriously be hiding behind this right?

Funnily enough, some of the traffic is from the street sweeper they are running over the bridge shoulder to prepare for it reverting to a path this afternoon.

I.e. this is traffic that drivers would not be otherwise experiencing, not to mention whatever it is costing to operate these 4 vehicles.

Amazing how quickly "bikes need licenses for safety" turns into naked resentment that there are different rules for different types of vehicles.

Yes, the vehicles which are literally 1000 times less likely to kill someone should have different rules.

Walkable communities are healthy! Most people don't think about infrastructure they just use what is provided. If we want less congestion, better air quality, and to fit exercise into our busy lives, why not just build for it?

It reads like the usual Mikie Sherrill "softly-softly" approach to housing. Do some incentives, maybe make some recommendations, explore financing, beef up anti-discrimination enforcement. It's all fine, but what we really need is to take an ax to exclusionary zoning by local townships.

People who drive a motor vehicle: agree or disagree?

When you are driving a car, you are driving a deadly weapon.
That's why you have to avoid pedestrians and bicycles, *even if the cyclist or pedestrian is breaking laws.*
The law gives them right of way.
You're driving a weapon and they aren't.
