Exactly. And if you see a book of mine (or anybodys) that you can't afford -- or just don't want to pay for -- ask your library to stock it.
Do not steal books, I beg. Borrow from a library. Libraries lend e-books!

the key feature of "bad photoshop" was not that it was "bad" but that you could see the hand of the person who made it. "bad photoshop" is a triumph of human will over technical stumbling blocks. it's why the shaggs are magical and AI Music Slop is forgotten before you can even finish listening

Tech bros are SO obsessed with coming out with things that already exist and calling it disruption. It's all just tacking subscription models (and now AI) onto the sides and corners of things with duct tape. Parasite class mfs
they're spending billions of dollars to reinvent powerpoints so three shittily dressed guys can buy a fifth property and lobby against their unhoused neighbors

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

It's like when people talk about 'plot holes' in movies, generally they're searching for some "objective" problem in a movie they *already don't like* because the story didn't work for them emotionally. Good movies have 'plot holes' too and no one cares.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
