I'm sorry. This is so utterly brain-dead. I thought the full article would make this make sense somehow. It did not. Encountering these claims from the creatives as the reporter would turn me instantly into Isaac Chotiner on the follow-up questions.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Yes, we all know that every 007 has been a different person, each with the birth name James Bond. M has to find the next one every couple of decades like the Dalai Lama.
this is so silly. people know the deal with bond. the writers should just embrace the metatextual aspects of the franchise

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.
The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.
The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.
Why?
It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

The exchange between the Coast Guard and the Arthur M. Anderson on the night the Edmund Fitzgerald went down is one of my Roman Empires — asking the Anderson to come about and search, and Captain Cooper saying yes.

Having recently driven across multiple counties of the greater Los Angeles area at midday, once in each direction, I have no idea how this could be possible.

It is incredible — the blind spots you develop when you’ve never, ever been poor.
Trump claims that food stamps "puts the country in jeopardy. People that are able-bodied can do a job, they leave their job because they figure they can pick this up, it's easier."

american health care is fundamentally based on insurance in one form or another and every time it gets tweaked a lot of people reveal that they do not understand or do not support the concept of insurance
Remember that insurance is actually a thing you hope never to use, and then read this critique.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.
The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.
People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.
And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

When I used to do policy debate in the 90s, this was a common plan during the year the topic was health care. Everyone called it “The Heritage Foundation case”, because that was basically the only group that thought it was a good idea
How much lead do you have to ingest to think you can sell voters on your victory of creating new convoluted HSAs to replace (and, likely, be less than) what used to be a couple button clicks on the ACA marketplace website? Nobody asked for this and nobody will like it.
