Despite a reticence to make this the Democrats' ask, we will now get every Senator on the record: should ICE have the budget they managed with in 2024/early 2025, or a supersized budget equivalent to an extra 7.5 years of funding, even if they are (allegedly) doing lower-cost targeted operations?
Shutdown update: Sen. Bernie Sanders wants an amendment vote on funding package to repeal $75 billion for ICE in big beautiful bill. Has another proposal to redirect that money into Medicaid

SHUT IT THE FUCK DOWN THEN!!!!
The arrests of Don Lemon and Georgia Fort underscore the gravity of this moment. This has never happened before in our history. We shouldn't pretend it's normal.

More reason for us to hold the line and demand a DHS budget that stops funding lawlessness.

One reason you can't just tinker with ICE/CBP is the whole thing is facially illegitimate. The intent is rotten. It's run by a white supremacist maniac and will continue producing white supremacist maniac results

Graham objected to unanimous consent.

And he blocked the business of the Senate.

Any Senate Democrat could do this.
NO SENATE VOTE TONIGHT

Couldn’t get all senators to allow a speedy vote. Schumer tells reporters Lindsey Graham is blocking it. “That’s the holdup,” Schumer tells reporters. Graham wants to keep a provision letting him sue to pocket $500,000 over J6 phone records seized.

If the current crop cannot demonstrate they care more about democracy than enjoying three-day weekends, we should flood the zone and challenge them all.
Primary Every Democrat
It’s exhausting to watch poll-tested, donor-beholden congressional Democrats continue to be too old, too cloistered, and too bumbling to do anything as the government burns.

I hate to tap the sign but again: this is all made to make in-person education and access to knowledge transfer a preserve of the elite. Human education for the few, bots for the many.
We want to make sure tutoring isn't the preserve of a lucky few, but accessible to every child who needs it.

AI can help us do that.

Safe, personalised, one-to-one learning support to help every child achieve and thrive.

Of the biggest scandals in US history just this week, I think I’d rank them:

1) Federal paramilitaries invade US city based on racist lies, murder US citizens

2) Slush fund for the president from stolen foreign resources held in Qatar

3) Whatever FBI and DNI are doing re: 2020 election in Georgia

I hope by now everyone gets that all struggles are intertwined, but if you had any doubt—

this bounty hunter model is based off of Texas’ SB8, which was the death knell for Roe—

& allowed ppl to pull these same vigilante lawsuits against anyone assisting in someone getting abortion care.
Kansas just passed a monstrous bill enabling criminal penalties and vigilante lawsuits for trans people using the bathroom according to their gender identity and requires them to surrender their current drivers licenses and birth certificates if it does not match their sex assigned at birth.
