Gentleman in the streets, freak in the skeets. Reply guy. Probably not a bot. He/Him.
I've added Chotiner's phone number to my contacts, but put his name as "Probable Spam"

Problem solved.

"Its dismal box office was an improvement over the catastrophic numbers expected, likely boosted by reviews that judged it only one of the worst movies of the decade instead of the absolute worst"
So the NYT calls this movie, that is on track to lose $50-60 million, a "strong showing".
We're on our own out here folks.

This is my favorite grammar rule and most native speakers don't even know it exists.
Ok, which one sounds better?

A) It’s an old little amazing house.
B) It’s an amazing little old house.

B, right?

Which of these?
1) She was wearing a huge green raincoat.
2) She was wearing a green huge raincoat.

You chose 1, didn't you?

WHY??

Really gratifying that some people answer "What Would Jesus Do?" with "Fight for the little guy and be a pain in the ass to those trying to hurt them".
The clergy just keep coming to this anti-ICE protest.

Genuinely unclear where they all will go — it’s packed outside on the sidewalk already.

Possibly spin it as a new Rocky Horror Picture Show for the 21st century. Everyone show up and heckle.

It could work

One of the pleasures of being an introvert is that "Don't see them at all" is always an option.
The number of people who seem to think that the only options for dealing with people are "punch them in the face whenever you see them" or "give them gifts whenever you see them" is sadly unsurprising

This is true, I hate it, and I particularly hate #3 (which I have heard on more than one occasion).
1️⃣ He didn't say that.
2️⃣ He said it, but you misunderstood him.
3️⃣ He said what you understood, but he was just trolling.
4️⃣ He was serious but he's just negotiating, not going to do it.
5️⃣ He's going to do it for grand strategy reasons I've invented.
6️⃣ Look what you liberals made him do.

The 25th doesn't help as much as people think it does. Trump can just say "Nope, I'm good" and he's back. Then he immediately fires all the disloyal people who voted him out.

It can go to the House/Senate, but that requires a 2/3 vote, which is a higher bar than impeachment.

This is hard.

I am going to be honest that if you aren’t sure whether or not it would be good if the fascists kill a prominent anti-fascist activist with whom you have developed an inscrutable parasocial antagonism, I really doubt the sincerity of your commitment to leftism or anti-fascism

I tend not to give movies a second chance (other than ones I've watched with my kids), so I'm struggling to come up with an answer.

The first Austin Powers, maybe? Was "meh" the first time and didn't like it much better the second time when I watched it with a friend.
What is the movie you have seen the most times that you would say you do NOT like?

I'm glad I live in California, because it's going to go Democrat whatever I do and I don't want to be in the position of having to cast my vote for him.

(My vote in the primary will be for whoever is the most frothing mad at MAGA. I want spit flying out of their mouths)
i think gavin newsom fucking sucks and if you ever try to guilt me into voting for him i’ll scream

We won't make DC a state and people think Greenland might become a state?

We are so dumb.
Small peeve: Punditry (or GOP boosterism) that pretends Greenland would be the 51st state.

Of course it wouldn't. We bought the Virgin Islands from Denmark a century ago. More than 2x the population of Greenland. It's a territory, and its citizens don't have voting DC reps. Neither would Greenland.

The libertarian party candidate got fewer votes in the last Presidential election than a guy who wasn't running.

But sure. Let's check in with the "Usually more relevant than the Green Party" and see what they think.
This would be a good opportunity for the Libertarian Party, which has supported free migration of peaceful people for over five decades, to run a slate of candidates on an Abolish ICE/welcome immigrants platform.

Schumer is objectively not stupid. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard after getting 1600 on his SATs and being valedictorian of his high school.

So why is he such an idiot?
Schumer as a major American metro is being brutally occupied by Trump goons: "The affordability crisis will be our focus throughout 2026 because that's what the American people are demanding"
January 15, 2026 at 5:21 PM
I want this to make sense. My Rep voted "YES" and he's not generally an idiot.
The House voted 341 to 79 to fund Trump's war-mongering foreign policy agenda.

Only 57 Democrats voted NO.
