The Hydrox/Oreo of the comic strip world
A few months back I learned Heathcliff predated Garfield. Blew my mind.

Elordi’s hair does kind of look like this in the movie, but I cannot confirm that it is made out of HAM.
Does he at least wear the Ham helmet?

While I remain wary of any movie that portrays Heathcliff without his orange fur and back stripes, I did like the new Wuthering Heights.

Sparks fly between Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in the latest adaptation of the famous novel.

Still waiting. I even stood next to it while talking to my youngest earlier. Nothing.
I put the incredible Amazing Spider-Man 2 Blu-ray box set on my bookshelf to see how long it would take my children to notice Jamie Foxx’s veiny blue head staring at them.

So far, no comments about it.

I’m always here to help in that regard.
I’m already looking forward to being enraged that no one gets me this for Christmas next year

Truly heroic work by Emma Stefansky listening to these dreadful songs added to popular musicals, mostly in an attempt to qualify for Oscars. See how many you can endure!

Thank you for all the shares, enthusiasm, and especially the pre-orders today. Books are a ton of work; hundreds or thousands of hours spent alone, hoping eventually you will produce something someone will care about. I’m looking forward to everyone seeing this one in the fall.

Matt's book about Siskel & Ebert is one of my favorites, so this is an immediate pre-order (even if he wasn't my friend)

To answer a question I’ve got a couple times: Yes, there will be an audiobook version — if that’s the one you want, the pre-order for that will be up very soon, probably by the weekend.

The first movies I loved — the ones that made me fall in love with movies — were comedies. But for years it’s felt like the genre is on the verge of extinction. That feeling led to this book, which looks back on the last (?) great era of movie comedies and considers why it came to an end.
