how am I supposed to believe in any of this anymore? how am I supposed to ever believe again me and my neighbors have unalienable rights from what I have seen and experienced here in Minnesota? how would I ever trust this again with what I have seen with my own two eyes?
Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.

I have never ever seen anything like this. I have seen communities organize around natural disasters in a somewhat similar way but obv that wasn’t 80% SECRET.

ICE is incapable of being constrained and I would think Minnesota’s senior senator would realize this by now given the absolute brutality being unleashed on her constituents.
I voted against that bill and I will vote against this bill when and if it comes to the Senate.

ICE is making our communities less safe. We need real constraints on what they are doing in Minnesota & across the country.

I've never seen a population more united. If people can hold onto that unity, if people can accept that different people will have different ways of confronting fascism, if we can remind NGOs and orgs that they can join but not control the resistance, then, well, people here will write history.

I've been here 24 hours, but already with what I've seen, well, I genuinely believe we're going to win. People here are well aware that what happens here impacts the entire country, that it sets the tone for resistance. ICE is angry, ICE is terrified, of how deeply unpopular it is.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Been meeting on the front lawn
Been gathering in the parking lot
Been talking in the break room
Of labour and unrest and eyeing the clock

Are you okay with what you've got?

SHE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CM Vetaw just called me to try to defend herself. She apparently still does not think it is her role to denounce ICE and demand they leave Minneapolis. She also cast some concerning (& thus far from my experience, baseless) suspicions about our neighborhood rapid response network.
