Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.

Minneapolis police are falling back, shooting tear gas canisters at the entire neighborhood exactly the way that ICE agents do. In these situations, there is no meaningful distinction between ICE and the local police. Demonstrators are attempting to protect each other by throwing back the canisters.

Don't forget the Supreme Court's role facilitating ICE's brutality and racism in Minneapolis. SCOTUS lifted an injunction that limited racial profiling in immigration enforcement on Sept. 8. The federal assault on Chicago began the next day. Then came the Twin Cities. SCOTUS greenlit these horrors.
