Noticing another uptick in fake AI slop food accounts on here... Some link to fake "blogs" with untested recipes and AI photos, others just follow-farm or spam food feeds. I drop all of these into a mod list if you want a one-stop block list that I update whenever I find new ones.

BREAKING: At Pope Leo XIV’s urging, U.S. Catholic bishops just delivered the strongest rebuke of a sitting president in Church history — condemning Trump-Vance raids as “inhumane” and “dehumanizing” in a 216–5 vote.
NEW: At Pope Leo’s Urging, Bishops Issue Historic Rebuke of Trump’s Raids
Nearly all U.S. Catholic bishops united in Baltimore to denounce the Trump administration’s “inhumane” deportation campaign — a near-unanimous, unprecedented moral stand against a sitting president.

There is absolutely no person whose presence in that conspiracy could possibly make me say "they're too important to prosecute" or whatever. Give them a trial, because due process is important, and once they're found guilty, we can have a parade between the courthouse and the prison.

Under the Big Ugly Bill, Alphabet gets $17.9B in tax breaks. That could pay for SNAP benefits for 7.5 million Americans.

Amazon gets $15.7B. That could lower ACA premiums for 2.4 million people.

Microsoft gets $12.5B. That could cover Medicaid for 3.8 million children.

I have in my hands definitive evidence that my opponent has committed a world-historic evil. Evidence that, were it to be released to the public, would cause his supporters to abandon him and his entire world to crumble to dust. I therefore have no choice but to give in to every one of his demands

Who doesn't like anything Studo Ghibli related? I mean there may be one or two of you out there, and if so, you can ignore this lovely piece on the food therein.

The rest of us can feast our eyes.
“The preparation, textures, and slowness of food scenes in Ghibli films, such as the clatter of bowls, steam rising from soups, and the slurping sounds of characters eating, all evoke sensory comfort; a cinematic version of a warm hug.”

In the Studio Ghibli foodiverse, food is hearth and home, conjuring a sensual state of longing and belonging, says Sophie Lovell.

this is the reason i yell so much about literacy. it's not an exaggeration. the average replier quite literally does not know how to read. three-cueing is like trying to cook blindfolded based on the smells you imagine for ingredients you've never used after watching a recipe video
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.
