The hilarious thing is that expression does not make me think “I will always love you.” It makes me think “I will kill you when you turn your back on me.”
I know people think Musk only bought Twitter to help the rise of fascism.

While that’s important, I still think it’s secondary to his primary goal, which was to own the place where his fans praise him.

With AI, Musk’s use of the platform for love and validation is only getting more transparent.

In 1972, while White was a history professor at UCLA, his career acquired an unusual footnote: He sued Edward M. Davis, the Los Angeles police chief, over the department’s practice of enrolling undercover officers as UCLA students so they could monitor the goings-on in classrooms.

When people learn with ChatGPT instead of following their own searches, they end up knowing less, caring less, and producing worse advice, even when the facts are the same.

Friction is an essential ingredient for learning! Convenience makes us shallow.

Can we just not comment on people's appearances unless they're very clearly engaging in the internet in that way?

(Eg, "Here's a picture of me in a dress I feel cute in" or etc).

Can we esp not sexualize people who are clearly not trying to use social media For That?

Can be v v creepy & unwanted.

'sit' is, I believe, the only English word to preserve all of its original IE ablaut grades:

0: nest
e: set
long e: seat
o: sat
long o: soot
Historically, the word 'nest' consists of two parts.

The part 'ne-' is related to 'nether', while '-st' is related to 'sit'.

The distant ancestor of 'nest' meant "place to sit down".

'Nest' is also related to Spanish 'nido' and its Romance relatives.

I cannot tell you how grim the AI in higher ed situation is. Many of the students have completely surrendered to letting AI do their homework, badly, I might add. How do you fix this? Truly, what the hell do we do, beyond what grading can address, which isn't a solution?
