For new follower: I'm an artist/researcher/writer/game designer based in north east England. My interests are mostly between ludology, horror studies, and ecriture feminine. Long term foci are trans readings of Cixous, + TTRPG manuals as experimental literature and model for audience agency in art.

The Greens don’t believe providing safe refuge for endangered asylum seekers is an “out-of-control” policy.

Nor do we believe making life more difficult for those in need is the way to unify British society.

Refugees are welcome.

Outraged in a theatre screening of Taxi Driver shouting "that's the same guy from the last one, he's just wearing a hat now" until someone explains to me that it's Harvey Keitel, and not Van Morrison from The Last Waltz.
Martin Scorsese is 83.
This guy had a point.
I remember watching The Irishman & thinking ‘This is just Kundun again. What a hack.’

to say a bit more on this: Denmark seizing refugees' belongings was already a grotesque fascist policy and the UK government wanting to do the same is inexcusable

David Lynch being a total fucking coffee freak is so funny, he's characterizing people with it in such effective shorthand. The Northwestern Hotel has bootleg La Pavoni machines, Colonel Briggs has an electric percolator while Pete has a stovetop model, and Harry has the most insane carafe ever

Stella is one of the least sincere politicians in the UK. She's probably been livid that Sultana had managed to go solo as a name, even before leaving labour, and is really banking on doing the same.
Looks like it’s finally dawned on the world’s slowest politicians that their bosses are absolutely intent on either getting everything their way or crashing the bus off a cliff out of spite at not being respected and obeyed, taking everyone with them.

I find this really interesting as overlapping with but still quite distinct from Deleuze's cinema of Affect (which does not need the human/space to project into).
This is a really remarkable video essay on contemporary film and the theories of Laura Marks. It's making me think about movies in a new way.

It really lives up to the hype.

A Chinese Ghost Story is full of action, comedy, romance, horror, and drama and it dances between all of these modes masterfully without ever dropping the ball.

It's rare to find a movie that does everything well and still pushes the envelope, but this one does.

Looks like child sexual abuser, Jeffrey Epstein may have been using his financial connections to help Bannon opaquely fund far-right operations in Europe.

We already know that “gender-critical” groups were funded opaquely from the US. We need an inquiry to find out which were funded via Epstein.

"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I follow this surgeon on Instagram mainly because he writes these fruity ethereal captions like "I'm honoured to help X on her journey to harmony, femininity and spiritual balance" and then the photo is just the most cunty doll you ever saw
