I stand with unionized Starbucks workers, who are on strike across the country right now for better wages and working conditions.

Until Starbucks strikes a fair bargain with its workers and ceases its union-busting behavior, I'll continue to boycott the company.

“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

Update: they accepted partial payment and are giving me until 5PM SHARP to catch up.

Managers have said they will go NO LATER. Can you help me reach rent? I'm at $215 of $700. The last two donations were each $20- who can match that?

Please keep sharing, too! URGENT!

May her memory be for a revolution. May it deepen our commitments. May her example sharpen our politics. May her life remind us that disability justice is a practice of transforming the world through collective care, accountability, creativity, defiance and imagination.

One way I have found to mourn someone is to set up a monthly sustaining donation to a mutual aid effort they cared about. If you can join me in honoring Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social with a sustaining donation today, please do. Thank you Alice, and I will not let the bastards grind me down.

Alice Wong was one of the most effective people challenging the Whiteness of disability communities and its many flaws, but who believed fiercely in us as a community, in disabled people as oracles.

Alice brought so much to so many of us, it’s hard to measure the kind of gratitude I have for that.

Nuzzi's fawning coverage of the sociopathic conspiracy crank she was having an affair with aided his rise to political power, which he is using to perpetrate the worst intentional public health catastrophe of our unnecessarily shortened lifetimes, and THAT is the STORY.

Respect Alice Wong’s call here:
“When I am in public spaces and see most people unmasked either because they think the virus is a hoax, that masking is virtue signaling & a sign of weakness, aren't thinking about it, or that they simply don’t care, I feel like an expendable burden not worth saving.”

N95 or better. If you can't afford, ask around about mask blocs that might be willing to ship you some.

I've gotten hundreds that way.
Glad I got to become disabled in a world that already had Alice Wong @sfdirewolf.bsky.social in it. I learned so much from her incredible writing & activism. May her memory be a blessing, & may we all continue her work.
Easiest way to do it? WEAR A MASK. Protect yourself & the vulnerable around you.

Losing Tinu last year and now Alice. I am heartbroken. There's been way too much loss in the disability community. So many people are now gone. Too many to list.

Both Tinu and Alice both helped shape the person I am today. I wouldn't be alive without their help & support.

You were incredible, Alice Wong, and it was a blessing to have collaborated with you on projects, to have read your words and to have heard your voice, as full of life and passion and joy and rage as it was.

You made a difference—so much of a difference.

Rest always in peace, and always in power.

We're working on getting her on a boat back to Morocco, but until we can pull that off we need to keep her alive and she has no place to go other than the hotel.

PP: madeleinewedemeijer@gmail.com
Turns out the hotel owner was nice enough to reserve the room for her, but we owe $509.02 & there's no cheaper place for her to go. People don't like shelling out for temporary fixes, so it's been really hard to raise money. I'm at a loss.

Anyone have resources in the NE US? DMs are open.
Azine needs next place to go since the hotel she's in is booked for the weekend. Still very short on funds. Lady who owns & runs hotel seems to be really good person + we want Azine to be able to go there in the future: Screwing her on this isn't an option.

The climate future is coming for us all and we must bring as many fellow travelers to meet that future as we can. It will take all of us: Immigrants, refugees, incarcerated people, disabled people—not just people but trees, insects, birds, whales, grasslands. We must save the world to save the world
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.
