It's surprising to me how low these numbers are given the frequency of near-misses and reckless behavior by cyclists in NYC! It goes back to the original point about stop signs: Cyclists have better visibility and maneuverability than cars, making accidents easier to prevent

This is not and has never been the case. It may be anecdotally frightening, but in New York City, where space sharing is chaotic, fraught and happens at a quick pace, the danger you describe is historically nonexistent.

PSA: the CDC has a program that pays for your COVID vaccine if your insurer won't. The guy at CVS told me that my insurer had not added the new vaccine to its formulary yet, so I'd need to pay $190. I told him about this program, showed him the website, and paid nothing. 🤗
