WEAR A MASK!!

My hairstylist, who owned her salon, was permanently disabled by long COVID. A client was dishonest about COVID exposure and infected her. She has amazing family to support her, but she had to give up styling and sell her salon bc of her health.

Protect yourself and others!!
It costs next to nothing to wear a mask

It’s one of the best investments you can make in your long term health

Covid is still here & still disabling

It only takes one infection to change your life forever

Masks, especially N95s, are great protection!

If you can’t afford one try a mask block:

it's bad, but many people who understand it's bad now did not understand it was also bad before when it was their guy doing the eugenics, and I just can't with their outrage anymore

where was the outrage when it could have prevented this

THE NEW VINE WILL TAKE YOUR CONTENT like everybody is excited because “vine is back and they don’t allow AI!!!” But that is only because they want new content to scrape for training AI. Don’t be fooled.
Just so it's clear. It's not allowing AI because it's trying to create a clean dataset for training AI. It's not because any of the involved parties actually care about human created art.

Demons can lie to you. You have to rebuke them categorically, rather than fold when they say the right words.
Vine is being rebooted under the name diVine, with funding from Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The app plans to feature more than 10,000 previously archived Vines and does not allow AI-generated content.

wearing a respirator today, this weekend, lowers the risk of bringing unwanted microscopic guests to your holiday celebrations, now less than a week away. your government has no interest in supporting you to preventing illness, nor in caring for you once you’re ill—take responsibility. mask up.
we are in an unprecedented untenable situation: wanton destruction of federal public health apparati (already reduced by biden), on top of a precarious, ever consolidating for-profit “care” system that’s been inching toward collapse for yrs as insurance rates soar—& you won’t help prevent illness? 🤨

Important piece on how we got here.

Brownstone raised millions to undermine COVID prevention policies.

Now at least 8 people with ties to Brownstone hold senior positions at federal health agencies, where they are restricting vaccines and cutting science funding.

bro it's so crazy how children in the US are property of their parents before they're people. not getting your kid vaccinated is medical neglect but we let the parents decide because their ownership trumps the child's right to life saving medical care

NYTimes was also aware a staff writer was a close friend of Epstein - who had been offered incriminating photos of a Presidential candidate - and chose instead to spend the next decade on totally unjustified, frankly delusional, propagandized coverage of trans people and their doctors as “predators”
I'm sorry, I'm still having a hard time getting over that the owner of the NY Times is in the Epstein files thing and they haven't even acknowledged this in any reporting.

Covid-19. Bird flu. Et al. Now is a *really* good time to wear those respirator masks, my friends.

I think a lot about those who have died directly because of the carelessness, selfishness, and negligence of their fellow humans. Our species has not evolved enough. We have a LONG way to go.

We should nationalize the railroads. I'm not talking half-assed state capitalist nonsense like Amtrak or Conrail I'm talking one big centrally planned railroad run as a public good with no profit motive.

TAKE THE FUCKING TRAIN COMRADE.

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

This is important to know about—it’s a common Covid outcome! One of my many scary first year of #LongCovid symptoms was not being able to breathe almost any time I tried to eat. It would start a few bites in & I would gasp for air for the next two hours, my lungs refusing to open properly
So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.

The Biden Administration reduced the COVID isolation guidelines from 10 days to 5 (when many are infectious for 14 days) because of a letter from the CEO of JetBlue. Fauci defended this decision as "preserving societal function." Sure didn't help anyone who went on to be disabled by Long COVID!
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

This is another large loss to our surveillance capabilities.

At this point I have no clue how we will pick the variant for next years Covid vaccine.

We will lose the ability to know when convergence (XFG) or other high mutation changes occur (BA.3.2 we’ve been monitoring)

Cryptic lineages too.
On Oct 1, 2025, GISAID informed us that they had ended updates to the flat file of SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences and associated metadata that we had used to update Nextstrain analyses since Feb 2020. GISAID's stated rationale was that their "resources are limited". 1/5
