went outside to take out a bag of trash and saw that it is currently snowing again, then I said to myself "holy crap it's cold out", then that's when I made the realization that I was outside in the snow with no jacket on and wearing shorts

can't say it any other way: you need to give up on democrats. they are the same as republicans. the exact same. in 20-30 years they're going to merge the parties once they all realize this too, and that is when there will finally be a new left-leaning party that will give a shit about us.
