She/her. Everything I write ends up being about cyborg lesbians because I keep being obsessed with the intersections of identity, gender, and the physical form. Also I'm v gay

Just gonna pull this aside and tell you that yes, this includes transphobia, folks. We’re not special here.

We either join hands and learn from the work of Native and Black folks or we all fucking lose. :)
The hardest pill that every white gringo eventually needs to swallow in this hell country is that p much every shitty thing ANYONE, even they, experience, has a direct line of attribution either to the genocide of native folks or hatred of Black people

And they just really don’t wanna believe it.

Lae'zel is the best BG3 romance. She gives up the trajectory of her whole life & devotion to her god empress because she meets someone whose scent makes her too horny. Far more realistic + grounded than most of these storylines.

Roko's Basilisk is a trap to horrify guys who've never experienced hardship and don't know what it looks or feels like and don't have the emotional intelligence to outmaneuver their desire to reason everything instead of understanding.
roko's basilisk is so funny because you hear people say it's this terrifying concept that will change your life then you look for an explanation waiting for it to get scary and it never does

These same people will then go and use newtonian physics to describe the world around them. Unbelievably problematic, we must never engage with past theory. Don't you know he snorted mercury and didn't talk to women? His laws don't even work on a quantum scale smh.
I do find it incredibly tedious how "Trans woman engages with radical feminist text critically and brings her own perspective to address the flaws and see what useful ideas are contained in them" is framed as some sort of self-irradiation with TERF Particles and not like. Basic intellectual rigor.

Cinephiles watch a 6/10 movie and will champion it for the rest of their lives.

Gamers™ play an 8/10 video game and deem it garbage that only shills like.

This is because Gamers™ are unsophisticated morons who don't understand or appreciate the very art form they chose to consume

If a reader dislikes your politics, then no amount of subtlety will prevent them from accusing your story of not being subtle enough. Not even if the politics of the story are about your right to live. Don’t go quieter to appease the callow.
if u see this, quote-post with your tips for writers that no one gives anymore because they seem obvious (even though they're not)

i'm having that thing where you're doing a supernatural story that also has deeper meanings and then you're like "i wanna put a giant spider demon in it," because that'd be cool, and then you zoom out, and realize you've accidentally created some kind of horrible ableist metaphor for euthanasia

I've said before that the core storyline of film noir is "an amoral person meets an immoral person and must, reluctantly, make a moral choice."

Europe got ravaged by two wars. People wondered if classical morality meant anything in a modern era.

Noir said, "Yes, it does."
Here's a mind-twister for some people. Noir is optimistic. I'm serious. Doomed protagonists, horrible options, bad choices, devastating consequences. All that and they keep going. Yeah, they're horrible people. They do horrible things. But in spite of all evidence they still think they can succeed.
