90s D&D was the creative peak. it was all highly imperfect but I dunno what to say about an org that had Dark Sun and Spelljammer and Planescape and just threw all that out, and how aligned that discarded stuff is with a zeitgeist they don't know how to tap into now.

there is a BG3 spell mod that adds the 5e spell Ceremony. a fantasy cleric RPG with broad applications for the ability to officiate weddings and perform funeral rites is an incredible idea, actually.
