I strongly suspect that the opposite is true. Newsom is likely going to be much stronger among normie Dems than the Bluesky crowd.
newsom is the candidate for people who think posting is activism
Newsom is utterly pathetic. Dog shit instincts.

A political media that wasn't closely allied with him would be calling him a lame duck and warning Republicans that being associated with him is toxic. Instead they're daydreaming about a trump 1000 year Reich and brainstorming ways he could rule as a dictator

If Walz isnt on the street and risking injury or arrest, he is not doing his fucking job.
Sucks but it's the facts.
we're going to need to see Dem leaders in the streets

"please stop" is not working and they see it as weakness

you want to help, governor? go on an ICE patrol in Stancil's Honda Fit

Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

you know, its funny, but america is (was?) really at the height of its imperial power in the period preceding the trump era. its just that ruling the world doesnt get these guys hard unless they get to murder people

There you have it; the Trump admin allows ICE lawyer James Rodden to stay on the job. His personal social media account praised Hitler, supported white nationalism, and said that America started going downhill the day that Lincoln was elected.
BREAKING: James Rodden, an ICE prosecutor who the Observer identified last year as the operator of an X account that posted “America is a White nation," “‘Migrants’ are all criminals,” and apparent praise of Adolf Hitler, appeared to be back at work Tuesday.

People aren’t talking enough about how the “agents” are intentionally giving mixed directions to people. Go! Get out of the car! Keep moving! I said out of the car! They’re intentionally confusing them so someone can claim they’re not following orders (because they can’t follow conflicting ones) /1
It would be a mistake to see Trumpism as authoritarianism imposed on an unwilling nation, as opposed to authoritarianism implemented in a nation with a plurality that is already made up of authoritarian bootlickers who created the context for Trumpism to thrive.

yeah Mitch clearly gambled that courts would take out trump (ergo his post impeachment speech) while preventing a GOP Schism and, well, he was wrong
If McConnell had wanted to convict, Senate would have convicted. McConnell decided to pass the buck. His reasons were pure power politics: he knew a vote to convict would blow up the party. I suspect he also thought court prosecution would end T but also mobilize T supporters against Ds: a "win-win"
It was not the next President's or Attorney General's job to do the damn job of the Republicans in Congress (& the Executive Branch on 1/6/21). The anger at Biden/Garland is fine, but it's wildly misdirected without greater anger at the Republicans who are responsible for all of this.

Continues to enrage me that so far zero mainstream journalists have written a story about straight up, zero quibbles, white supremacist Nazi propaganda being posted *daily* by multiple, official, US Government accounts. Just fucking crickets.
A recent Department of Labor post uses a slogan similar to the Nazi propaganda slogan "One People, One Empire, One Leader”

Q: Is it your posture to put restrictions on ICE as a condition for funding DHS?

JEFFRIES: Renee Good should be alive. There was no justification. There are common sense measures that need to put in place so ICE can conduct itself in manner at least consistent w/ every other law enforcement agency

There was approximately two seconds of veneration at gunpoint for Charlie Kirk from the MAGAs, which provoked a backlash so profound that I’m pretty sure Kirk’s visage will still be being used in AI slop twerking and fetish memes 20+ years from now
It is funny the extent to which Charlie Kirk has no legacy though, and that his death was basically career self destruction for Ezra Klein

incredibly frustrating that the DNC is nowhere near as consequential as the people who are obsessed with it think because Martin is night and day with congressional leadership
You lying piece of shit. I chaired the Minnesota DFL for all three of your runs here. I watched you lose. Three times. Minnesota never bought your con. And now, as Chair of the DNC, I’m looking forward to ending Trumpism for good in 2028 — not with lies, but with votes. Again.
Trump: "I feel I won Minnesota. I think I won it all three times. Nobody has won it since Richard Nixon won it many many years ago. I won it all three times in my opinion. It's a corrupt state ... I did so well in that state. The people were crying every time after."
