Five years ago today, a violent mob incited by Donald Trump stormed the Capitol and tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

It’s been five years since Donald Trump incited a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol and prevent a peaceful transfer of power.

And there it is:
FOX & FRIENDS: What do you see as the future of Venezuela's oil industry?

TRUMP: Well I see that we're gonna be very strongly involved in it. That's all. What can I say. We have the greatest oil companies in the world.

Another day, another unconstitutional war from Trump, who thinks the Constitution is a suggestion. Congress has war powers but GOP cowards are hiding under their desks while he kills with our money. MAGA promised peace, delivered chaos. Americans deserve better. Nov 2026 can’t come soon enough.

Congratulations to my friend Mayor Kaohly Her on making history as the first woman and first Hmong-American to lead St. Paul. This is a powerful moment for our capitol city, and a reminder that when doors open, entire communities walk through.

Call Her mayor: History made as St. Paul swears in new leader
In a ceremony Friday, Kaohly Her officially became St. Paul’s first mayor of Hmong ancestry and first woman to hold the title.

One final Democratic victory to round out 2025!

This win ensures that Republicans will not have a supermajority in the Iowa Senate. Congratulations, Senator-elect Hardman!
DEMS WIN BIG IN IOWA: Democrat Renee Hardman wins IA State Senate SD-16 with 71.5%, a 27-point Dem overperformance from 2024. Harris won the district by 16. Hardman's victory blocks a GOP supermajority and makes history as the first Black woman elected to the Iowa Senate.

The GOP has done absolutely nothing but screw over the American worker while they’ve controlled both chambers of Congress and the White House.

That is, unless your name is Donald Trump.

In 2025, Republicans allowed health care premiums to double for millions of Americans. Those higher prices start later this week.

They’re not working for you.

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone working through this holiday season: first responders, health care workers, service members and many others.

Thank you for everything you do!

After Democratic victories in over 150 races across the country this year, I’m filled with hope for 2026.

Thank you for all you’ve done to help Democrats win this year.

NEW: Trump’s DOJ will not comply with today’s release deadline for the Epstein files.

Per Trump’s deputy AG, the full release will instead take place “over the next couple weeks.”

All files were required by law to be released today.

I’m sending my deepest condolences to the family of former Gov. Jim Hunt, who was a true public servant. As Democrats, we can be proud of the legacy he left—he was a champion for North Carolinians, who fought to lift people out of poverty and improve public education.

Rep. Raskin: The Presidential Walk of Fame is just a level of immaturity that has probably never been seen in the White House before. But the revealing part of it is that he spends his time on this stuff, just like he spends his time building his ballroom. They have no legislation for the country.

Tonight, Donald Trump tried to sell us all a shit sandwich, desperate to convince the American people that he isn't a complete and utter failure.

He’s lost the economy. He’s lost his mind. And next year, he’s going to lose the midterms.

I’d like to give a big congratulations to Gary Clemons, who won his race for the Kentucky State Senate in a 47-point landslide! This marks Democrats’ 227th election win or overperformance in 2025.

This win speaks to the power of organizing everywhere.

All 214 Democrats and four Republicans have come together to sign a discharge petition to force a vote to extend the ACA subsidies. This would keep 22 million Americans’ health care premiums from skyrocketing next year.

Speaker Johnson, bring the bill to the floor now.
