It's becoming difficult to hide that a major purpose of the Trump administration is siphoning tax revenues from Blue states and redirecting them into subsidies for Red states. At what point does this become intolerable?

I like that we are moving, by fits and starts, to a new, better understanding of the current corruption of SCOTUS and how to fix it.

Good stuff here from @joshtpm.bsky.social.

For 26 but especially 2028 it's time for Democrats to make clear that the current Supreme Court will have to be reformed (expanded in number, reformed in structure) to allow popular govt to continue in the United States. Not so much a litmus test as precondition for any other promise to be credible.

They’re just completely erasing history.

It would be better if Dems in DC approached issues with the mindset of "how can I accomplish Democratic objectives?" rather than "I need an excuse to avoid conflict with Republicans" or "the Democratic base is always wrong, my job is to keep them in check and avoid doing what they want."

If you're angry about Republican gerrymandering, you should ask your representatives if they support, after new referendums, admitting DC and the territories as states — giving them democratic representation and Democrats both additional House seats and new Senators.

The Democrats failure to call Trump's impeachable acts as such is why most of the country thinks that Trump is a regular president doing regular partisan things. Democrats don't act like Trump is committing crimes and so Americans take those cues. This strategy of pre-surrendering, rather than 1/2
Dems shouldn't hesitate to brandish an impeachment resolution to deter clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell. But they also have the luxury of being in the minority. The onus is rightly on the GOP and Dems can place it there simply by saying what they think should happen. www.offmessage.net/p/trump-epst...

Last year NYC had 171 firearms deaths on a population of 8.3 million.

Louisiana had 1,266 deaths on a pop of 4.6 million, which is on the order of 12 times as many. You are twelve times as likely to be killed by a bullet in Louisiana than in NYC.
