In case its useful to anyone I did a little explainer on starting the Oslo stitch starting chain

#nalbinding #oslostitch
I did a little photo tutorial for you for the stitch. I’ll do another for the first chain.

Wrap the yarn twice round two fingers and hold the loops between thumb and forefinger with the end attached to the needle over your thumb

I'm glad the Green Party exists, because imagine if this was the UK left's best attempt at trying to capitalize on the mass disillusionment with conservative governance.

A political class more fixated on trans women's genitals than trans women are has brought the UK to the brink of collapse.
Iqbal Mohamed, a Your Party organising MP, has publically called Trans women "men" and called for their segregation in public spaces

Anti-Trans+ ideology rots political parties from the inside out

Another Your Party MP is accused of 'explicit transphobia'
Potential Your Party supporters have criticised MPs for promoting 'third spaces', accusing them of condoning trans segregation

Each time I have posted this video on other platforms the response has shown how useful people have found it. I teach face to face lessons in distaff spinning in the UK, but I know there are so many people, worldwide, interested in learning this technique and tutors are few. Hope this helps.

70% of trans people believe BBC News is hostile. (And anyone who has listened to Justin Webb knows they are clearly right.) goodlaw.social/kyxv
Poll shows 70% of trans people think BBC News is ‘hostile’
The right wing claims the corporation is ‘pro-trans’, but the people at the sharp end of its coverage disagree. The BBC must stop its attack on trans people.

"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

This was one of the final incidents that made me give up journalism.

I pulled on every contact I had to argue that even if one supported the gender conservative position, journalists laundering their involvement in this way fundamentally undermines the entire institution of journalism.
The ultimate twist is that 'gender critical' activist-journalists, Deborah Cohen and Hannah Barnes, reported the study to the HRA themselves!

The HRA was required to open an investigation because they’d received a report... which gave the Newsnight duo the shocking headline they desired.

A reminder that this anti-trans panic is 100% bullshit and exactly none of our country’s problems are related to someone expressing their gender identity and everyone who isn’t a hate-filled weirdo knows it.

1/🧵 Much of the progress for LGBT+ rights in the 2010s came from powerful individuals and billionaires who had gay sons. They supported gay marriage largely to protect their inheritance.

As soon as it was achieved, the same so-called “allies” began funding anti-trans campaigns.

With respect as I think you genuinely believe in this phone initiative, I would love to know what the Labour government is doing to make trans kids and adults safer, because I'm despairing.

I'm a researcher of trans law and recently cowritten on trans childhoods in the current climate, if it helps.
And how do those children typically access the media they've been radicalised by? 🤔

Measures like this are not intended *instead of* measures to keep trans kids and adults safer, but they're not at odds with those objectives either.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

It’s no surprise that only 31% of trans people trust a legal system built to enforce prejudice, says Jess O’Thomson.
