It's not just Americans large cities either

Take Colorado Springs: a majority-white, historically Republican, socially conservative, affluent city

Tragically it's murder rate is out-of-control at 4-5 times higher than London’s
There were 93 homicides in London last year: population 9 million

In New York - population 8.5 million - there were
391.

London's homicide figure is 6 times lower than LA, 9 times lower than Miami, 17 times lower than Chicago.

And it's falling year on year despite the population increasing

Remember when we were calling the Starmer Labour Government far-right?

Tommy Robinson 🤝🏻 Labour
The Labour Government reeling off the same far-right talking points on immigration. And look who is celebrating. The far-right.

There is a political alternative that won’t ever scapegoat those fleeing war, persecution and torture

As an MP and government minister, Streeting pulls in £160k a year - plus hefty expenses and donations

You’d hope that would buy the NHS a leader genuinely equipped for the job

Instead we get a Wes, someone more focused on bullying doctors than showing he understands the org he’s meant to lead
'Don't tell me you don't want to be out on strike - because that is exactly where you are. Own it.'

As resident doctors walk out again, Wes Streeting calls out the 'reprehensible and cartel-like behaviour' of their union.

Pete Buttigieg is America's Wes Streeting
Speaking at a Texas Tribune Festival on Friday, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg criticized the Democratic Party for failing to reach everyday Americans, arguing that it “got sucked in” to a conversation about identity. #TribFest25

Trans+ people deserve to live, thrive, and belong in this country - without fear or barriers, and without being dehumanised, vilified, and treated as convenient political targets

📉 But new @yougov.co.uk / @goodlawproject.bsky.social polling exposes just how badly Britain is failing on this

Breathing #cleanair is a basic human right, and that’s why getting #EllasLaw passed into law matters so much - for all of us, including future generations

I’m genuinely thankful for everything @ellarobertafdn.bsky.social and @sianberry.bsky.social are doing to make it a reality

🙏🏼
Ella's Law, which would make breathing #cleanair a human right, will not likely have its second reading next week.

Yesterday I asked if the Government will make more time in Parliament for this vital Bill to be debated and made law.

Even today it's worth us all reflecting on the courage and strength of character needed for that little girl and her family to take on the racist mobs and state
It's ONLY been 65 years since six year old Ruby Bridges walked through the halls of William Frantz Elementary as the first Black child to attend an all white school. Met with mobs and hate, her bravery and courage helped change the course of history for this nation.

Calling it now:

Between today and the May 2026 local elections, the mainstream media, Labour, and every other right-wing party, think tank, and pundit will throw everything they can think of at Zack and the Greens to discredit them

But come the May 2026 locals?

The @greenparty.org.uk will win big
People have tried to say that the Green surge is just on social media.

Or in a bubble that's just about polls and just about new members.

Yet up and down the country - Greens are also winning elections.

Huge congratulations to the Canterbury Greens! 💚🎉

Marty nails it.

British media’s framing of “Trans issues”:

Problems supposedly caused by Trans+ people existing at all.

The reality of “Trans issues”:

The daily struggle of Trans+ people trying to live, love, survive, and thrive in a world that remains hostile

Glad to see this being called out
Thank you for commissioning polls showing what Trans+ people’s issues are rather than what we tend to get which is what other people’s issues are with Trans+ people.

More of this please 🙌🤓

Of course he's not alone, but, Justin Webb is perhaps one of the most open and influential anti-Trans ideologues at the BBC

His broadcast record repeatedly normalises anti-Trans rhetoric, viewpoints, and guests, while he rarely provides comparable space for Trans+ voices or perspectives

More specifically it would drive yet another nail into the coffin of trust in the Labour party
1/3 It's being trailed in the media that the chancellor won't, after all, break the manifesto pledge on income tax. If that holds, I welcome it. Breaking the pledge would drive yet another nail into the coffin of political trust.

There's lots you can and should criticise the BBC for.

But it's our BBC - and it's important.

Great to speak to CNN - Donald Trump shouldn't have his hands anywhere near our public services.

"This is sociopathic behaviour"

Trans+ victims of crime are already far less likely to seek help from the police than cisgender people

Now, Police Scotland are taking steps that will silence even more victims - and let more abusers escape accountability

This cannot be allowed to happen
Major news.

Police Scotland’s newly announced “sex at birth” recording policy represents a deeply regressive and discriminatory shift in policing practice. It raises profound concerns for the dignity, safety and human rights of transgender people across Scotland.

Beneath all the cries of “ban their phones” lies a more sinister truth:

They fear what happens when Queer kids find each other,
when their connections mean the strength to survive, and their community gives them power to thrive

- A mum of two kids with phones
I hate this "phones" conversation regarding queer people and queer kids because the bottom line is, cishet society KNOWS. Right-wingers KNOW that the internet is how queer people connect to each other---hell, that marginalized people period use it to organize and educate.

That's why they hate it.
