🚨Let's treat childcare like infrastructure.

In a new report written with the brilliant Mandu Reid, I am calling for Universal Free Childcare to be moved forward as serious policy.

This is a big vision and I hope others will come to share it.

Of course Maduro's repressive regime must be held accountable - but the US's unilateral attack on Venezuela is not about democracy. It is about oil imperialism.

The UK must stop pandering to Donald Trump and roundly condemn the illegal action taken by the US.

This leaves me wondering how many other countries are on Trump's "to invade" list for 2026, and whether the UK government will oppose any of them.

The US attack on Venezuela is an illegal act of aggression against a sovereign country (with lots of oil). Venezuela has become a more deeply repressive dictatorship & urgently needs democratic solution but this is unjustified & unjustifiable. Look forward to seeing swift UK Government condemnation.

Venezuela - a question I asked in the #HouseofLords last month.

Hoping we will get a stronger, clearer reaction this time from the UK government about the US attack, which cannot conceivably be legal under international law

Venezuela has about one-fifth of the world’s global oil reserves—an estimated 303 billion barrels—and the single largest-known mass of crude oil

After helping hand out prizes at Brighton’s Royal Mail depot this Xmas, I am looking forward to helping ‘deliver’ a better 2026.

We won important changes and climbdowns from Labour this past year but we need more wins on inequality, clean air, justice and more in the next. #HNY

It’s been a remarkable year for the Zack and @greenparty.org.uk. Membership is growing fast, our message is being heard, and this new Green surge makes 2015 look like a molehill.

We’re only just getting started

“Reform is not asking people to join its party so they can work together to build community spirit and support each other in response to the problems they face. But that is almost 100% of the Green message. It is so positive to be part of a growing band of active citizens like ours.”

So yes — it is no surprise that a recent YouGov poll suggests Father Christmas would vote Green. 💚

I am desperately worried for 20 yr old Qesser Zuhrah who is dangerously ill at HMP Bronzefield. It remains very unclear how soon she will be transferred to hospital.

Qesser is on day 46 of hunger strike. It should not take this long to get the help she needs.

I'm on my way to a Chanukah event. It should be a celebration but instead our community is once again mourning.

I will be thinking of everyone in Australia and those around the world in the Jewish Community who know this fear and loss.

We stand with you.

Extremely worried for the awful situation of the Palestine Action activists on hunger strike.

Still awaiting trial, some for over a year.

Green MPs and peers have written to David Lammy, calling for urgent action and fair treatment.

Ending section 21 gives Govt some breathing space to truly end homelessness, but its new plan falls very short.

With housing benefit still frozen, more and more families will fall through the cracks when things go wrong.

Housing remains a seriously disrespected human right.
BREAKING: The UK Government has published their homelessness strategy.

It’s a step in the right direction with much to be applauded. But it falls short of what’s desperately needed to end Britain’s homelessness crisis.

Highlights from the Railways Bill session in Parliament pt4.

Here's Brighton Pavilion MP Siân Berry on the scandal of Rolling Stock Companies.

🤑Every time you buy a train ticket, approx 25% of the cost goes on paying the rent being charged by the ROSCOs to the train lines. @sianberry.bsky.social

Greens welcome #GreatBritishRailways but what about rolling stock?

ROSCOs paid £275m in dividends to shareholders last year - a huge drain on public finances!

I urge the Government to find ways to bring our rolling stock into public hands.

Closing Westdene library when the Government is promising a library for every primary school would be a very strange decision.

The Council should rethink these harsh proposals and vote to preserve our libraries tomorrow.
December 10, 2025 at 11:28 AM
Thank you to the over 5,000 people in Brighton Pavilion who signed the petition opposing mandatory digital ID. The debate was packed out!

I will continue to speak out against these dangerous proposals.

In the National Year of Reading, continued austerity should not make children lose a safe space to read.

The Council must vote to prevent closure, particularly when the Govt has promised a library in every primary school and Westdene Library is… attached to a primary school.
