It is not enough for the government to simply condemn the establishment of more illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank; the UK must take concrete action.

Ban all trade with illegal settlements and refuse to have anything to do with the proceeds of crime.

Today in the #HouseofLords about 4.30 I'll be speaking about the nitrogen crisis, on which I wrote for @theecologist.org back in 2021.

The "bomb" is now even larger than it was then

No one is asking Wes Streeting to be a commentator.

Asking him to be a government minister when the whole world can see Trump breaking international law whilst threatening Greenland next, and the Cabinet (with Nigel Farage) seems perfectly fine with it.
Wes Streeting is asked if Trump has broken international law when it comes to Venezuela. Streeting says he's got nothing to add and he's not here to be a commentator.

I mean, which idiot thinks politicians should answer questions when they're being interviewed in a TV studio!

It shouldn't have taken the govt over a year to listen to farmers' concerns. But there are still problems - and loopholes - with the APR policy. Govt should listen to and work with farmers to ensure a sustainable future for farming.

On BBC News today: striking that it’s the two old establishment parties - Labour and the Conservatives - refusing to condemn the US breaking international law and doing what it wants.

Feels like politics stuck in the past, while the public has clearly moved on.

Do Mark Carney, José Raúl Mulino (Panama), Jens-Frederik Nielsen (Greenland) have to look to their security? Seems so
This leaves me wondering how many other countries are on Trump's "to invade" list for 2026, and whether the UK government will oppose any of them.
