Hard to read this and not feel a flare of righteous fury at the absolute cruelty that underpins the anti-trans movement.

Just diabolical to force a tiny number of girls and young women out because you've let your twitter algorithm convince you they're dangerous.

We tried to place this story - very expensive polling, the first of its kind, strong quantitative data about what trans people feel about Britain: bluntly there is no better way to tell the story - with the BBC but it said it was "too weak".

But it will pick up any old piece of transhating garbage.
In @yougov.co.uk polling of the trans community, to the best of our knowledge the first of its kind ever conducted, an astonishing 84% said Britain is “fairly unsafe” or “very unsafe” for trans people.

A lot of people don't understand how pensions (or benefits) really work.

They picture a national savings account in which their 'own' taxes are stored until they retire.

Not that they were paying for the person before them, and now someone else is doing it for them, so inflation doesn't screw them
On a bus. Fares across Worcestershire are £1 per journey every weekend in October.

Four seniors boarded. They are loudly complaining. Quote: "They shouldn't do this £1 fare. It's workshy folk getting stuff for free yet again. No-one gives us pensioners anything."

The seniors all used bus passes.

Tommy Robinson’s march was a drunken, coked-up mess
He claimed the world was watching, but most of London barely noticed - and much of what was on view was appalling

Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law.

These far right thugs do not speak for Britain.

This is the thing. I'm not someone who has ever voted for Labour, but I am someone who should be persuadable to vote for them. I'm not sure which of Lib Dem or Green I'm going to vote for next time, but I know I'm *not* voting for a party that's made it illegal for half my friends to exist in public
There is a well used line that "elections are won from the centre" except Labour aren't fighting from the centre, they are fighting from the right. Attacks on human rights, international law, migrants, trans and non-binary individuals, the disabled etc, aren't centre ground attacks. 20/

Migrants aren’t “drains” on Britain.

They’re one of the few things stopping our economy collapsing entirely.

I’ll say it again: no one’s trying to make your kids trans or non-binary or gay. We’re trying to keep your trans or non-binary or gay kid alive, because we know (unlike certain howling straight people) exactly what it was like.

The Quakers are doing exactly what all public services are legally allowed to do even if the EHRC wants to pretend they're not: say gender-based toilets are inclusive and for anyone bothered by that as a matter of belief, there are stand-alone cubicles that they are very free to use. 1/
This, from the Quakers, is a pretty good example of how to resist pressure from bigot lobbying groups. Effectively “we legally can allow trans people to use the loo, we morally should, and we tried it and nothing bad happened”

Things i have done in public restrooms with blokes:

Patted a stranger's back and said "you good dude?" As he threw up in the sink. Had a good chat about football scarves. Recommended a pub to a stag do.

Toilets are just toilets. As Odent implies, any anti-trans dialog about toilets is effing weird
things I have done in a public restroom outside of the cubicles: washed my hands, fixed my makeup, fixed my hair, made friends with drunk women, borrowed a tampon, lent a tampon, thrown up in a bin (hg life), texted, changed my shoes
things I would bothered with actual men seeing me do: none of that
