I think the only reason I kept my Twitter account up was to save my leadership thread. I wrote it while still in the Army and was one of my favorite tweets. May be time to deactivate the account, so am going to rewrite the thread here.
Had the exact same thought.
Armed men pointing a gun at you and screaming at you to both stay and go... both a nightmare situation and one that could happen to literally any person doing anything

Kind of feels like a tipping point was reached.

In the end, someone has to ask *why* people have been persuaded to be so terrified of immigration, when it has so many benefits and so few real downsides. Almost all of the claimed downsides are either lies or misinterpretations of statistics.

Why would any sane country do this to itself?
I'm afraid there *is* an obvious answer: it can't.

if the ukrainians suddenly had an appropriate amount of artillery, 155 ammo and other enablers the battlefield would look much different. small owa drones are just a field expedient way of getting artillery-like effects
“Ukraine’s battlefield technologies — especially drones — do not yet constitute a new way of warfare. Instead, they function mainly as substitutions for missing capabilities and have produced stalemate rather than decisive maneuver.”
A New Way of Warfare Requires More Than New Tech

I am mostly reserving judgement on Venezuela while things develop. But my initial thoughts.

1) Maduro’s rendition probably doesn’t advance any U.S. foreign policy objectives, per se.
2) It invites significant reputational damage.
3) The WH doesn’t appear to have planned beyond this point.

Not only was it foreseeable but also largely self inflicted

Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

The first thing to do is to take off the jacket. Because nothing conveys "man of the people" like the schtick of losing the suit jacket in otherwise formal settings.
This isn't about democratizing the news. It's about elevating "vibes" and "feelings" to be on par with lived experience and subject-matter expertise.

Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

Hi, I am "don't put the end of the kids' bunny slope up against the town's busy thoroughfare."
Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

A poacher mistook my horse for a very large deer (I ASSUME) and started shooting at me
Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

A few minutes after I was born, they put me in an incubator with a broken thermostat so it was more like an air fryer

Saw an empty parking lot on the side of the highway and what looked like a trail head. Then, this.
Was cool to pay respects to a fellow Grad, a world away.

Investors continuously undervalue consumer sentiment.

A majority in Europe and China, and not less than 51% of US citizens, would rather walk ten miles than even be seen next to a Tesla. This won't change any time soon.
Analysts estimate Tesla EV deliveries of 422K in Q4 2025 which is -17% below the 495K deliveries from Q4 of last year.

Despite that $TSLA stock is up +20% for the year because investors believe that while its car sales are tanking, it’ll soon be making bank from robotaxis and household robots.
Tesla quarterly deliveries seen falling as lack of tax credits, competition sap demand
Tesla deliveries were expected to fall in the fourth quarter, as the loss of U.S. tax credits and rising global competition sapped demand even as the company rolled out cheaper versions of its best-se...

There was a time that I wanted to research and write about mentorship DNA and tribes, meaning the patronage links.
It really crystalized after the Vanessa Guillen murder and other SA scandals, Kept seeing the same DNA network--mentors and mentees. Then Branch and Division patronage-- the Tribes.
Patronage is what generally separates exceptional Army O6s who make GO from those who don’t. Love one of my former bosses (a 3⭐️) but it’s not lost on me that he r Wed irked for the same GO on at least 3 separate occasions. IMO, not healthy for the profession.
The reason he got there was patronage. The minute that patronage from McCrystal was gone, he was fired for incompetence.

Eric is on to something.
I advise transitioning folks often.
The rule of thumb I tell them is, unless you are a lawyer, pilot or doctor, your marketability is as an 01A---branch immaterial staff officer.
You will need to be trained, quit looking for the perfect prom dress.
Or get a hard skill.

Right. He was right there as part of the campaign. Everyone knew this. His stance was widely reported as was the likelihood that he would end up in the cabinet. And yet 80,000,000 Americans lined up and pulled the lever.
It is utterly catastrophic that RFK Jr. plans to end CDC recommendations for most childhood vaccines.

It’s a betrayal of science, ethics, compassion, and the people of the United States.

And it was also a specific goal of Project 2025 (page 254).
