It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

There should be no such thing as a religious exemption or exception. If it's acceptable to make an exception, it's acceptable to make for any reason, not just religious ones. If an exception can't be made in general, it shouldn't be made just because someone has a religious justification.

Today's dark pattern from Microsoft - it doesn't seem to be possible to set all associations of a single type (i.e. images) at once, introducing huge bias towards Windows' preferred native file associations.

I feel like there's a fundamental reality of social media that the people running the platforms fail to grasp; that the platform is defined by its users. You may try and set up a platform to attract a particular user base, but it's pot luck who you actually get.

Letting a computer make decisions is letting whoever controls the computer decide the range of acceptable choices. There is no way that the owners of the AI systems will allow them to make decisions which are optimal for the user but against the interests of the owner...
