Writer, artist, creator of the webcomic "String," Londoner, malnourished leftie and kind of a crank. He/him until such a time as I get bored with heteronormativity. Taking commissions at: https://rosshopkins.co.uk

Common mistake but O Brother Where Art Thou was actually a remake of the original

Oh hai! I'm Ross. Alongside all the original zines and web comics, I'm also charting my alt OC's progress through FFXIV's MSQ alongside my first OC through a very irregular series of illustrations.

In today's update of "String", an urban fantasy webcomic, maybe some regrets.

Glass of sherry ready for the King's Speech and it still feels odd we have a "King's Speech" now. Carries connotations, doesn't it?

'Bit of an awkward turn I'm afraid, citizens, the Ruskies have gone and charged into the Baltics, so we'll all just have to pull up our sleeves and do our bit, eh?'

Merry Chrimbo one and all! As is tradition, Santa provided various chocolates that's constituting my breakfast this morning.

To celebrate, I'm holed up in the guest bedroom comicking to kill time until the King's Speech.

Merry Christmas, newcomers!

2025 has been a particularly busy year for me, with not one but TWO issues of my first physical zine, not one but TWO contributions to WIP Comics' Infinity anthology, and posting updates throughout for Chapter 8 of "String", my urban fantasy web comic!

🎄🍽️ SEASONS greetings
😯 Apparently some people hate puns! Don’t show ‘em this!

🤔 WDYT? Might print it as a card next year…

Ps. In case you’re wondering, salt has ears & the salt’s glasses are holding on to them.

In today's update of "String", an urban fantasy webcomic, there was probably a less traumatising way to do this.

On a comparative timeline between the first Lumiere exhibition and the first Pong cabinet we've reached maybe the early 1950s in terms of video game development. When TV was starting to eat Hollywood's lunch and artistic sophistication could be sorted into "Billy Wilder" vs "everyone the fuck else."
Game awards are not real because gaming as a medium and gamers as a fanbase have not matured enough to seriously discuss artistic merits

Lots of events You could point to to explain how our popular culture went downhill but one of them is definitely when comedians put all their focus on being controversial rather than being funny.

God, web design is always suicidal thoughts while throwing my wholeass body against CSS and then transcendent elation once I figure it all the fuck out. Did you know you can just tell browsers to make rounded corners and outer glows now? Jesus Christ. They just do it now. You just tell them.

Coming the same day as the redacted Epstein files helpfully reminds us that vested interests will only throw certified wrong'uns to the wolves when they have no other choice.
On David Walliams: The Daily Mail reveals that “showbusiness reporters at The Sun were told to drop negative stories about Walliams because both that newspaper and HarperCollins are owned by Rupert Murdoch's NewsUK, even sharing offices near London Bridge.”

People will blame cancel culture for all of society's ills and then wait patiently twenty years for a blatant and obvious lecher to face any kind of professional consequence for his behaviour.

It's funny how these things turn around. Back in the day "we're bringing democracy to the Middle East" was code for We Want Their Oil. Nowadays "we want their oil" is code for She's Turned The Weans Against Me.
First it was "we have to blow up dozens of people on boats because of fetnanyl." But obviously it wasn't fentanyl being trafficked so then: narco terrorists are shipping cocaine! But then Wiles tells a reporter it's all about regime change and today it's bc US oil companies got kicked out in 2007?
