I tend to say this as "tech no longer cares if it's incorrect."
Like many things in tech, what tech “disruption” has actually disrupted are the reality-correction mechanisms that cause other kinds of productive activities to fail and need to be corrected, and that applies to everything from information security, to infra reliability, to harmful business models.

I mentioned earlier that they chew on Nile Crocodiles - I wasn't kidding, baby Hippos use them as teething rings since the texture of their scales is satisfying to gum.

Just this 12' long razor-toothed archosaur, sitting there going "stay calm, Clarence, you survived the asteroid, you can do this."

i missed this thread about hippos and all the science as to *why* they are terrifying murder cows the first time it was around
Additionally, hippos - despite being massive - have almost no fat on them. All of that impressive bulk is muscle.

2% body fat. Compare that to Elephants, which are around 8-10%, or rhinos, which are 10-20%.

The average human is around 20-40%, for reference.

They're *all* muscle.

Lumines and Demonschool coming out in a one week window has obliterated my free time schedulem, and that's before I factor in all the books I'm expecting to come out these weeks.

These are the best kind of problems.

No one — I think literally no one — is actually excited for AI in search. It's only there because Google is using all of its channels to ram it down our throats, a strategy which they've been refining over the years.
This is the part that confuses me - back when search worked, it worked fine for all of these things. What does "AI" add? why are people so excited about it?
pancake recipe will be in any pre-AI nonsense search engine and any good book too, without any chance of "add glue for extra chewiness"

The really depressing thing about AI is it proves how little most people care about art. This is very funny, but also, so many people will have had to look at this and not one of them stopped and said "what is this absolute shit?"
