Good thread on Elon Musk, a fellow of the @royalsociety.org and therefore an exemplar of their values.
Elon Musk continues to try to socialise civil war, political & inter-ethnic violence in Britain. He combines an argument that violence is inevitable with his call at the Tommy Robinson rally for pre-emptive violence, on grounds of an existential threat & the inevitability of violence

VG from @georgemonbiot.bsky.social but as others have said the historical analogy is wrong. Chamberlain wasn't a Nazi fellow-traveller.

AfD supporter and far-right propagandist Goodwin is much closer to Oswald Mosley.
“there are Neville Chamberlain’s in every generation”

George Monbiot’s takedown of Matt Goodwin and the Reform party is a thing of beauty 👏 #bbcqt

This is a sewing pattern. It is also a page from a late 14th century manuscript that is one of two primary sources for an important Icelandic saga (Sturlunga saga), but that was probably not important to the 17th century person who really needed a sewing pattern.

How is it that we never seem to have the conversation about how crime rates, & especially violent crime rates are at record lows,

And yet our prison population keeps growing & our prisons are always full & in crisis… 🤔🤔

-resolved the industrial dispute on the railways
-was proceeding with rail public ownership
-spoke clearly on P&O
-gave priority to buses & opposed removal of the £2 cap
For her approach she attracted hostility from the right. It’s a backward development to lose her

(One upside of a niche hobby is the occasional early warning of SME trends).

Double standards are strong on the other place today....

Petition crew out in force for a vote that happened 4 months ago and ended in a landslide

I know a vote from 8 years ago that is now viewed as a mistake and ended a tight 52/48 after being sold on a lie...

Shall we revisit that too!?
