This is what we're up against. Bangor University, that fine and noble institution where I've spoken twice, nearly 150 years young and still going strong. The sheer hatred they reserve for us shows what could happen after 2029, but also that they're frightened of knowledge and learning.

Some survived but no-one lived.

Ice dancing just seems to be showing off raised to a sport.

New meaning of “undisputed” just dropped.
Q: The rule today would block anti-tariff votes in the future. What's the reasoning for that?

MIKE JOHNSON: The president's trade policies have been a great benefit to the country. It's undisputed. I think the sentiment is we allow a bit more runway for this to be worked out.

The answer we should haw given collectively is “grow up”.

The real point is this: so you heard people speaking a language you don’t understand, so what? So what? It’s not only not a big deal it isn’t a deal detectable with a microscope. Not everyone speaks English and no-one is obliged to make sure you can eavesdrop on their conversations. /5

It’s a city that attracts millions of visitors for business and tourism, etc, etc. But those arguments and countless others were beside the point. /4

The effort it took to get a drop of blood from that stone was mind-boggling. There were so many points to make: London has had embedded immigrant communities for as long as it has existed - you’d need to be about 2000 years old to have known it as a monoculture … /3

We were supposed to wring our hands and speculate about how disorientating it must be for those exposed to such an alien situation. /2

The Super Bowl outrage on Twitter reminds me of one of the earliest supposed “legitimate concerns” touted about London - that if you travelled on the Tube you would hear people speaking languages other than English /1

In the face of the threat he decided to stay in and donate any sum recovered to @billablehour.bsky.social. This shows he is lovely. I can’t say I much care for the unspecified costs threat though.

Given that all that had happened by that point is that he’d signed the CFA and the said he no longer wished to proceed one might have thought the answer was nil. Or was it what they had on the clock divided by the members of the class? Or was it a made up number? /3

He was chased for the questionnaire and when he wrote back to say he’d had a change of heart he received an email to say that if he withdrew he would have to pay the firm’s costs. Although the client letter stipulated fee rates there was no indication of what fees they claimed to have incurred. /2

A daily member signed up on a website to participate in a litigation relating to a data leak. Step one was signing a CFA and providing contact details. He was the emailed a questionnaire. At that point he decided that he would not bother. “These things happen” he reasoned. /1

From my experience of being hosted in Dublin, it’s surviving the generosity of the post event drinks that is the real challenge.
