I made the last payment on my student loans today.

I am 46 years old.

I’ve been saving for my child’s college education for 7 years.

And it certainly wouldn’t have happened today if not for the COVID interest pause.

Surely it’s obvious this system is deeply broken.

Unvaccinated infants are the second most likely group to get hospitalized for Covid after older adults. Any effort to minimize the effectiveness for kids is evil.

This administration’s actions are dangerous, and the damage to the public and children may be irreversible

You know it’s bad when Jamie Dimon is concerned about illegality & conflicts of interest & the rule of law:

Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

This book has been so soothing. I have probably learned more about the foreign policies that shape the world just in the first three chapters than I have in at least the last 15 years of news media. 🙃 It's helped clarify a lot of the absolutely batshit nonsense of the current timeline. COMFORT READ

I'm also surprised that Roger went with a Hong Kong factory (I called the factory today to confirm). If MAGA is about making America great again through reindustrialization, why not use a US factory? Over at O'Connell's, you can find MiUSA tailoring for half of Roger's prices

I find it fascinating that the entire world is essentially struggling with the same social problems and instead of giving people housing and resources we continue to elect leaders who guard those resources.

Maybe time to change gears???

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
