Hello! I'm Sarah (Gryph) and I work in an animal shelter. My partner and I own four cats, used to have a dog, and we TNR in our neighborhood. This account is mostly cat pics, as self care and because that is the candle I hold in the darkness. ❤️ Also occasional gaming and book talk. 🙂

He's loving spending time in the bus with us and Sadie. Unfortunately he remains in quarantine for a while yet, so no friends for him.

I was proud of myself today, I curbed my ADHD impulsive brain from being obnoxious. Coworker was complaining about a medical issue I've also had and I stopped myself mid "Have you tried?" to first ask, "Do you WANT to hear a 'have you tried?' question or would you rather not?"

The way my day went today was I forgot to make coffee and take my meds until almost noon bc I was too busy. Then at noon I was told there was pizza in the breakroom and said I'd go get some in a second.
I remembered the pizza around 2:30. There was at least some left, lol. 🙃

I'm not super involved in the adoption side in my current position - I do more with lost/found, TNR, community support, etc. But we do "Christmas deliveries" every year, sponsored by a local car dealership. You can have adopted pets delivered to your house Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. (con)

This pic from last night is not great bc low light and front camera of my phone. But, this is what happens when you've got Christmas music going, you're sitting on the porch with your TNR cat who has been interested in lap sitting lately...and someone starts launching fireworks. 🤦♀️ (He was okay.)

Caught our barncat boy at work with a small blep last week. ❤️ He still startles and hides when you open the door of his kennel and will not accept any touch; but he'll take treats through the bars. We're hoping he can go to someone who can keep working with him, but those homes are so hard to find.

Last year's Christmas miracle: The first time Chessie let me (or anyone) hold her, or even pick her up voluntarily. ❤️
IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!! I know she looks terrified, but I promise you she was just slightly unsure and purring. Her eyes get huge very easily. This is the first time she's let anyone pick her up and hold her. ❤️

YES! We had a big and Very Angry cat get brought in yesterday with the finder claiming he'd been abandoned. The actual owner has been trying to contact us - he was NOT abandoned, just got loose.
I cannot say it enough, don't assume ill intent when you see a stray animal. You never know. ❤️

Very exciting news today that at least some folks here will appreciate. We have an injured cat with we think a fractured pelvis, and he pooped all by himself today!!! Twice! ❤️
(Not being able to poop on their own tends to be a bad sign for recovery prospects.)

Due to some awkward scheduling and people on vacation for the holidays, I'm in the middle of effectively working 11 days in a row. 🙃 The next two days are just short afternoon cleaning shifts, so I have that going for me.

A replacement seal failed so they have to redo it. 🙃 I super appreciate they tested it before sending it home, it's just still frustrating on all sides. They're closed Sunday so now my car is hopefully ready Monday. Hopefully.
Sarah's awful little car broke *again* while they were fixing it and I'm also behind on everything, yay.

TIL I 'm actually a small woodland creature. When I got out of the store from picking up my meds it was dark out, and too many people were flashing headlights in my eyes . Nash had waited in the truck, and I had to call him to help me find where we parked. 😅
