Hello! I'm Sarah (Gryph) and I work in an animal shelter. My partner and I own four cats, used to have a dog, and we TNR in our neighborhood. This account is mostly cat pics, as self care and because that is the candle I hold in the darkness. ❤️ Also occasional gaming and book talk. 🙂

Little blurry bc he was in motion, but this handsome man is Lasher. He loves swatting at people from inside his kennel, and is one of our kitties about to be transported to a shelter with more space! Transport partners are amazing in rescue, and can help so much. ❤️

All I have for today's cat content is Chessie and Claudius kissing over a churu. (Video: Porch cam. I'm sitting on the floor of my enclosed porch. An ear tipped tux and ear tipped brown/grey tabby with white are balancing front paws on either side of my lap and trying to lick the same churu treat.)

Trying to catch up on house stuff and also homework for my courses since this month was a lot on all fronts. So, I've been busy. 🙃

Our guy is almost done with the insulation repairs under the house. Wasn't cheap, but we've needed it done for years now and it should help the temp and cost to keep a decent temp in the place.
Claudius is about to be Very Sad since the skirting will be properly closed up afterwards.

A year ago today I started working with my little feral murder baby who, unbeknownst to me, would end up as a part of my little colony at home. She's still mostly feral, but I can pet her and pick her up now. ❤️

One of the little cuties that we were able to keep instead of sending for TNR last week. ❤️ Her brother is a little disaster of an orange tabby who likes climbing shirts, so it's hard to get a good pic of him.

I work an afternoon holiday shift today and I have ADHD, so my day has been, "Okay, now it's noon and I have to leave by 3:30 so I have to be mostly ready to leave at 3pm, so I need to remember that at 2pm and I have [x] tasks to get done today, but I can't get stuck in the middle of something..."

Tired - work's just been A Lot. But, I got to do something I like doing today. A couple ~3m old kittens came in for TNR. Sometimes TNR really is the best option! But they were so social they were trying to reach out of the traps to say hi to people, and we were able to keep them for adoption. ❤️

As temperatures drop, our phone lines light up with community members worried about stray and community cats. While it is wonderful that people care, rescues & shelters everywhere are at capacity. However, there are simple ways you can help outdoor cats stay safe and warm this winter.

So, sad reality of rescue and shelter work sometimes, little Chassit didn't make it through the night. Her body gave out despite her meds and IV. She looked super comfortable when I checked on her this morning, and I legitimately think she went in her sleep, sweet girl. ❤️

Sweet little girl was giving me purrs, I don't think the mic picked it up. This was right when I got her to work, before we realized she has scabies. She's quarantined and on an IV now, hoping she's feeling better soon with meds and fluids. 🤞(Vid description in next post.)

I do not have pictures yet, but Garfield's other mom found a stray 2-3m old kitten this morning. She doesn't get off work in time to bring baby to the shelter, so she's gonna drop her/him off in the morning and I'll bring them to work with me. Unknown if friendly, but I believe handleable at least?
