Would really, really love to see this project reach its funding goal.

Also a lot of people here are confusing (whether intentionally or not) the concepts of fail versus fold.

I've failed, thus far, to make change within the genre power structure.

But I didn't fold.

Again, this is a *strong* theme in African storytelling. I strongly recommend you read more of it.

If any white people within the North American Anglosphere genre community are still following me (not a joke) is this how you want to be viewed?

Your circles are reassuring each other they're in the right, but this is the sort of language I hear EVERY DAY from BIPOC and from around the world.
Pretty much like upper caste Indians when they’re called out. It’s the same playbook.

And they respond, "But are you saying I'm a racist?" like they've got the DARVO instruction guide sitting in their hands.

And everyone just lets them.

It's happening across North American Anglophone genre.

They want their tie-in deals and con access, so they all just get in the back seat.

We could be taking the wheel. There are more of us.

They write about bravery then pretend they don't know it's an option.

What I mean is, if you're white, and you're seeing the rallying cries, and you're thinking - we should be winning but then, why aren't we? Why did Dems cave so hard? Why is there no push?

It's because we, white America, acquiesce to constant squelching.

Turn it UP.

The fight is against the silence and against the complicity.

I'm so convinced.

People on Bluesky are speaking. BIPOC have been speaking.

But in lots of white communities, hell, look at genre, the hushing prevents us from rumbling the bleachers.

When public sentiment turns, like TURNS, we can go.

Wrapping up posts about the trip, which was so needed. The toughest part was not being able to overcome the blade. I can feel it, a cold spot that can't be happy again. Yet, I continue. And all the wonderful people at WFC gave me warmth, hope, and resolve. I have work to do, and smiles to share.

What I am noticing in NA is that when white men write on progressive topics, there tends to be more reassurance and fewer provided solutions. They are received better but then nothing substantive changes.

WQTI even start to say the same thing and get maligned and dismissed.

Almost every frustrated post with a bunch of likes that expresses a rhetorical question of when or how could be answered with: When white people stop silencing non-compliant women.

I'm very serious about this.

I had one original story published in 2025 and I love it. It's "There Be Monsters" in Sunday Morning Transport. A big thanks to @franwilde.bsky.social and the team for publishing it. It's about mermaid murder thoughts!

Anyway, I'm still sitting on two non-press 2026 surprises and I think both are awesome.

And the press community? Oh, we've got 🔥 on the way.

So, I smile, I go on, I've got this. We've got this.

We really have to start admitting we have two right-wing parties, and no, that doesn't mean you vote fascist or don't do what you need to do.

But it'd sure cut back on Dems and supporters guilting and harassing people into silence.

And we could focus on empowering the people we do need.
