The term "comfort atrocity" is simultaneously horrifying and accurate, and all the more horrifying for how accurate it is.

The GOP didn't find a way to incorporate these kids into their political pipeline before they got radicalized online, and now they are a constituency that represents the future of the party, and there's nothing anybody can do to undo that fact. This is a key problem with 21st century conservatism
