“I came out of the wilderness and naturally fell in with the Beat scene, bohemian, bebop crowd, it was all connected. Jack Kerouac, Ginsberg, Corso, Ferlinghetti…I got in at the tail end of that and it was magic…it had as big an impact on me as Elvis Presley.”

yesterday, a key person in William Burroughs life / legacy passed- now, a major chronicler of Allen Ginsberg’s life and art (wrote or edited many books about / by Ginsberg) is gone!
Michael Schumacher was an inspiration and essential part of my Ginsberg research.

a favorite Beefheart quote.
Man Ray
Stravinsky, c.1928

"I loved his haircut: I mean the way it was real thin, and the way he combed it with a thick-tooth comb." - Capt. Beefheart on Stravinsky, Vanity Fair, 1983

Igor Stravinsky · Chamber Works & Rarities

Must have been something here that I didn't have on another album at the time, currently listening to this great collection.

far more terrible is it to behold, when fathoms down in the sea, you see some sulky whale, floating there suspended, with his prodigious jaw, some fifteen feet long, hanging straight down at right-angles with his body
