I have my problems with any Pope, by definition

But you gotta hand it to Papa Francisco for coining the phrase "theirs is the construction site of hell" in a description of American fascism and then dying almost immediately afterward

New:

DOGE's spending has been secret.

No longer.

My colleagues have uncovered it.

the fact that there are people who seem to think that the funds he is stealing from the american people by stripping away all their rights and protections are somehow going to go to them and not directly into his bank accounts makes me want to smash my head against a wall

As an artist, I could never separate another artist from their art. Are you kidding? Art is a piece of the artist. They are inextricably linked. Please, never separate me from my art. If I ever somehow become a monster, forget my name and my creations. Let both die forever. We are one.

I don’t think people understand how devastating the end of net neutrality, and consumer protections around internet connectivity, are going to be. Imagine the situation where you pay for 4 or 5 different streaming services, each with different “exclusives” — but for the Internet itself.

There is damn near nothing good about AI usage at this point and it’s wild how hard it’s being pushed to appease tech weirdos and CEOs. We’ll be struggling to heat and light our houses and apartments while the rich consumes everything they see to become richer out of sheer greed

A man beats a trans woman with a bat and walks into a bar.

A regular looks at the bartender and asks, “You’re not going to let that guy in here, are you?”

Bartender shrugs and says, “He didn’t beat anyone with a bat INSIDE the bar!”

I also get annoyed when people look at middle grade or young reader comics and go, “This art style is so unimpressive to me, a sophisticated adult,” and like, duh. It’s drawn that way to give young readers the impression that they, too, can make comics. It makes comics literacy a two-way street.

Thank goodness for VPNs.

And not surprising. A lot of wealth of the West has been built on the bodies of black and brown people.
I see a lot of people talk about the environmental costs of AI. I don't see as much about the human exploitation behind it.

I emailed the gov and let them know what I thought of them hiring an ad agency to use AI gen images. It only takes a moment and I encourage you to do the same.

1/6 So one of the BIGGEST ad agencies in the world, got a giant project by the US GOVERNMENT to design it’s website. The agency used Midjourney.

So is the US government now into the business of displacing artists and elevating a tech that stole from artists and is terrible for the environment?
