This year's Oz book to enter public domain is Ruth Plumly Thompson's Yellow Knight of Oz.
The Wonder City of Oz, featuring obscure Oz character Jenny Jump, won't be in public domain for another 10 years.
(If Jenny Jump wasn't still under copyright, I wouldn't have named the rabbit Juni.)

Reading a fanfic and seeing they added an obvious GenAI illustration, surprising me like a jumpscare. Immediately closing the tab, never to finish reading.

So, Amazing Digital Circus is pretty damn good.
Which surprised me because I didn't like the pilot episode at all!
--but there's a rapid increase in quality so that the 2nd episode is okay and the 3rd episode is not bad and the 4th episode is great actually.
The 7th episode knocked my socks off!

Artists! The US Copyright Office has changed the rules, starting in Feb. we can register up to 20 published 2D works of art in a single application, making it way more affordable!
Important as registration is needed to fight theft in court or the CCB.

One thing that irks me about the AI fad is we have had quality spellcheck programs for decades. Why does anyone want to replace them with GenAI spellcheck that doesn't work as well?

I never see any creative say, "Thank god they put AI into this app I use all the time. It's not superfluous and didn't ruin my workflow at all. Please don't tell me how to turn it off because it's very useful. I'm glad the AI is here and I'm glad I was automatically opted in without being asked."
