Yup, this will happen.
I wouldn't put it past this court to let Texas's maps stand, and then rule against California's, which were passed by the voters.

There's no rational case they could make for ruling that way, but they don't bother to make a case anymore, they just use the shadow docket for illegitimate rulings.

I think part of What's Going On with billionaires is that the daily friction of interacting with normal people is part of what anchors people to the real world, and once you have enough money to buy your way out of the friction you can knock down a load-bearing column propping up your sanity.

Great interview tonite with artist/activist Nadya Tolokonnikova (Pussy Riot) on Maddow's show. She's not the first Russian dissident to warn us about the deterioration of our democracy (e.g. Masha Gessen, Garry Kasparov), but we should heed thier observations. They KNOW of what they speak-firsthand!

This is the closest thing to the start of a project 2029 document I've seen. Democrats desperately need a plan like this and, just as importantly, the balls to execute it.

I really don't understand who people think should run for local office if not local activists like Katie Wilson. Who's running for mayor with 80% name rec?
"Katie Wilson, if nothing else, has had an audacious rise from a little-known progressive activist..."

"Little-known" only if you're not paying close attention to City Hall. Wilson has been at or near the center of almost every major policy battle in the city for the last 10 years.
It's starting to look like a socialist is going to Seattle City Hall

80 percent of ACA tax credits go to people living in states Trump won.

As @aoc.bsky.social says, Republicans think this shutdown is about punishing Democrats. But in reality, it hurts everybody.

Watch.

I’m probably overthinking this, but an argument in favor of Mamdani’s proposed public grocery stores in NYC is the success of the military commissaries. I hope the reason for the DoD proposal isn’t Mamdani Derangement Syndrome (I doubt it—probably just some Trump donor looking to cash in).

More buses to the big parks + major upzones around the big parks = ✌️
During my 3 years living in Seattle without a car, my access to parks and nature was significantly constrained. Many of Seattle’s coastal parks are hard to reach by transit. So are the out-of-town hikes.

We can do better to ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the PNW

Please share. Thank you.
Another news story tonight about how Trump’s ILLEGAL tariffs are devastating the Canadian economy and the country’s unemployment rate.

The United States Govt is currently attacking and harming Canada & Canadians more than any other country in the world is.

While also harming its own citizens.
