Execs not even pushing AI to answer a question a low level analyst would've been prepped for is a sign of decadent disaster in the corporate world.

"Where does the number on slide 6 come from?" is the kind of thing you'd hear about in performance reviews. Not with AI, I guess?

Someone's looking at large call options, I hope.

Yesterday was "we have to revise our expectations down" and then announce "FAR above expectations"

Surely this is all on the up and up.

ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...

BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

These two images from Minneapolis. One a local man angry over an invasion of violent thugs. The other a coward, trucked in with little training, given arms and told to stomp on the local populace.

The world sees this. And they know which of these men is on the right side of history.

Judge: peaceful protest does not warrant crowd control measures.

Another judge: Bovino lied to us.

Another judge: Don't care. They can do whatever they want.

Bovino: you're loud. Suck gas.

Without the US these countries combined make up about 4% of the global economy.

Roughly 0.26 European Unions.

Just summarizing.

Things Americans can buy per Trump:
✅ Greenland

Things they can't afford to buy
❎ healthcare
❎ groceries
❎ housing
❎ appreciating assets
Not seems. Does. Repeatedly
Trump seems to Iceland and Greenland.

"Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland," he said. "So Iceland's already cost us a lot of money."

World: what's he gonna do about ludicrous invasion threats?

From Davos we have the Belgian PM and then we have Scott Bessent.

For a nation proclaiming its strength as its raison d’être, the US sure comes off as whiny and weak in the face of mild, thoughtful pushback.

"The worst thing countries can do [to the US] is escalate against the United States."

Most countries that have called our bluff on tariffs/trade seems to have come out the better for it.
US Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent:

What I am urging everyone here to do is sit back, take a deep breath, and let things play out. The worst thing countries can do is escalate against the United States.

Paraphrase @michael-feinberg.bsky.social/@lawfaremedia.org:

If ICE were a house you'd been watching crumble for years, eventually the rot becomes a structural issue and it makes sense to tear down and rebuild rather than patch.

Cowards can't say "abolish?" Replace. Anything but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I hadn't heard that the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is now in favor ofabolishing ICE.

Musk: sorry, there's no way for us to prevent Grok from generating illegal CSAM.
Also Musk? Of course we can keep Grok from moving codeword intelligence out of secure networks.

Miller ceding Minneapolis.
Miller: Denmark is a tiny country with a tiny economy and a tiny military. They cannot defend Greenland… Under every understanding of law that has existed about territorial control for 500 years, to control a territory you have to be able to defend a territory…
