Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Please spread the word about this exciting #LongCovid trial that they’ve made super easy to participate in from home! The faster they get enough participants, the faster they can release results
There are LoCITT-T participants across 46 states & DC!

We currently do not have participants from:
North Dakota
South Dakota
Mississippi
Puerto Rico

Can you spread the word to anyone with LC there (or in any other, more generally underrepresented community):

America has long feared it would suffer the same fate as the Roman republic, but never quite truly appreciated how utterly absurd Roman elites had become by the time of the late republic.

The overall popular version of ev-psych provides an intellectual framework for rich and powerful white men to believe they got there because of innate ability, that it would be silly to look for other explanations AND that concepts like consent are ineffectual dogoodery best ignored. Great stuff!

Practicing science involves actually practicing science if you disagree, to use data to show why you’re right and something else is wrong, not just saying “nah”.
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

Arguing with dudes on Slashdot about Summers’s comments was an extremely formative experience for me as a woman in tech and not in a way that made me respect people.
One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. Following that, scores of equally unimpressive people wrote pieces trying to explain or justify his remarks, when they should have called for his removal.
