With the exception of Bernie’s Guy Fetterman, Democrats universally blocked DHS funding.

Democrats Block DHS Funding Ahead Of Partial Government Shutdown
“Americans are crystal clear on how they feel about ICE – the status quo cannot continue,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Thursday.

Some republicans voted for it (47) but the clear majority voted against (157). No democrats voted against it.

A woman on FB is howling and screaming about how we don't have any voter ID and we need voter ID to prevent all this fraud!

She lives in Virginia and she doesn't vote.

How do I know she doesn't vote? Because the last time I voted in Virginia, I had to present photo ID in order to vote.

A massively under appreciated story of this congress is how senate Ds being aggressive both in confirmations under Biden as well as in gumming up the works on them under Trump that he's actually not gotten a ton of judges confirmed thus far
Anyways, dear reader, this congress has been wildly unproductive, and that includes things like appointments. The democrats have literally been as obstructive as possible in the senate and forced Thune to change the votes multiple times -after- wasting tons of time.

Another example of people not realizing they’ve been living under a damn rock.

🗣️BLACK COMMUNITIES have never not been over policed and terrorized by LEOs! Never!

Ironically it keeps getting lost that poor Renee Good was killed a few blocks from where George Floyd was killed years ago.

You couldn’t stop your party from being taken over by a bunch of wannabe Nazis.

Stay in your lane and shut the fuck up.

Well there you have it white people.

YOU NEVER HAD A RIGHT TO A GUN.

it was always a conditional privilege and now it's being revoked.

Have fun with that
Pirro: "You bring a gun into the District, you mark my words, you're going to jail. I don't care if you have a license in another district and I don't care if you're a law abiding law owner somewhere else. You bring a gun into this District, count on going to jail. And that makes all the difference"

Not many people will be willing to acknowledge that Establishment Dems were able to flip a red state senate seat in fucking Texas, but that did just happen as far as I know so I'll at least note it down so maybe a few more people will think to bring that term up during this election year.
What does this even *mean*? The candidate was a Dem supported by the DNC. What are we *doing* here?
You know who really ought to pay attention the result in TX Sen 9? Democratic leadership in Congress.

A terminally ill pedophile president and his psychopathic, racist sadist shadow president are burning the country to the ground and the GOP could end this today but instead are like meh - kid rape, torching the constitution and terrorizing U.S. communities aren’t dealbreakers for us.
Vile.

“Why aren’t Dems trying to defund ICE”
👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

This website flying into a paroxysm of fury over an obvious Democratic strategic win is yet another reminder how cooked and out of touch with reality the discourse has become here
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

You are all ABSOLUTELY entitled to your correct opinion that Chuck Schumer's messaging sucks.

But don't waste your time whining while he bought you two weeks. Bc this is legislative success.

Not to get pedantic, but there is never a "once and for all" in politics.

Thats why we say you have to keep voting.
I'm glad we're going to win in 2026 and 2028, but I really wish I had any confidence that the Democrats are going to use their power to put an end to this shit once and for all.

He announced he was doing this yesterday. Have they considered stopping by John Thune’s office?
There are about 100 protesters outside Schumer’s building in the middle of the blizzard urging him to whip Dem votes against any more ICE/CBP funding.

How I know Black people know white people better than we know ourselves:

Black people said we would set our privileges on fire rather than extend them to everyone.

Now we have evidence. In 2024, white folks voted away our privilege of not being shot by the government.

Equity woulda been easier.

That won't make a difference. ICE is funded regardless. There's no leverage. All that will happen is that FEMA workers get furloughed, TSA gets furloughed, Coast Guard doesn't get paid, and ICE still keeps going as is.

I have many frustrations about what occurred, but the idea that Dems didn't try is simply not correct. What happened is that they tried to do it "by the book" and then were systematically defeated or blunted in their attempts to do so

Will, my good dipshit, Democrats have tried to impeach Trump no fewer than three times during the last year, Republicans have blocked it *every time*.
What these guys don’t understand is that a single vote seven years ago doesn’t count. When you’re up against fascism you throw yourself into the gears over and over until something works or you’re ground to pieces. “Well I tried, back to normal” - you’re of a kind with every collaborator in history
