NEW: ICE has finally released post-shutdown detention data. The latest data reveals that a full 40%(!) of people arrested in the interior and held in ICE detention have no criminal record; no criminal charges or prior convictions. That is up from just 4% when Trump took office.

Wealthy individuals and corporations have lined up to fund Trump’s $300M White House ballroom, raising serious ethical concerns.

The Stop Ballroom Bribery Act would root out this apparent bribery and corruption by imposing critical donation restrictions.

Walz got a lot of people outside the Midwest talking about "Minnesota nice" in terms of neighbors helping neighbors, but when I think about growing up in the midwest, this is the kind of culture and definition of "nice" that was prevalent.

Stephen Miller said the Chicago building was “filled with TdA terrorists.”

DOJ prosecutors have not filed criminal charges or shown evidence that anyone arrested in the raid belonged to the Tren de Aragua gang.

Leaders of a Minnesota church community didn’t report a parishioner they knew had sexually abused girls for year.

They told his victims that once sins were “washed away in the blood of reconciliation,” they could never speak of them again.

I usually don’t like linking to the NYT, but I think it’s important to know that they wrote and published an obituary immediately for Alice Wong. (It selectively left out parts of her disability activism that they didn’t like, of course.)
“One of the things that really gives me joy is the fact that there are so many amazing, brilliant, creative disabled people out there. But part of my rage — and it’s a very real rage — is that most people don’t really know about them.”

Noirvember 6: The Big Heat! Man, I love this movie. The dialogue is so good, and it just whips right along. Everyone is giving a great performance, and there are so many satisfying setups and payoffs. I love a noir with an investigating protagonist who is struggling against corruption. 10/10

Carol is the most likable character I have ever seen on television. What I think this means is, Carol is angry at everyone for not minding being zombies and that scares them for interesting and rather leading reasons.
i also love how people are crashing out about how unlikeable carol is, i do not remember this much knot-wrapping over what an unlikeable entitled bitch walt was
