50 years later, we have the highest percentage of trans adults in the U.S.—1.5 times the national average.

Super weird that the guy who was Practicing Politics The Right Way somehow magically seems to have a following so racist against Black people that him getting shot by a white person in the whitest state in USA results in 7 Black universities receiving terror threats.

What's this got to do with us?!

yesterday "here is proof that the president is a sex criminal" felt pretty bad. today "almost all of the news media is assisting in covering up the fact that the president is a sex criminal" feels much worse
i cannot believe they are expecting us to play along with this "might not be his signature" farce and that a lot of people actually are, i feel like ive lost my goddam mind

This. This is it. Fuck everyone, we didn't do shit.
Liberals are starting to say shit like, "trans people asked for too much too fast," and I'll remind your souless asses that we actually didn't ask for anything. we were minding our own business and quietly improving our healthcare and you (cis) decided to do a pogrom against us for no reason.

Democrats: We figured out our problem—we were being too nice to trans people 😊

You are not going to out "tough on crime" fascist Republicans. Because they don't actually care about *crime* - they care about racism and power.

Anyone who characterizes the campaign being waged against trans acceptance as “parents who have questions” is delusional beyond repair

As a reminder, when trans women got together to create an all-trans women team and then played against another all-trans women team, the usual suspects complained because that day the field could have been made available to "normal" people.
For the overwhelming majority of people who practice it, sports is not about competition. It's about social belonging. Once you understand that, the reason why transphobes want to ban trans women from it even outside of competition and even in disciplines like darts is pretty obvious.

I just keep getting hung up on the phrase "a legal path to transition."

Sounds a lot like "a legal path to citizenship," which has so far gone swimmingly any time it's brought up.
No, New York Times. That's not what trans people are saying.

I need y'all to understand what the NYT, Dem donors, and centrists are doing here. They're pushing the narrative that trans people went too far and we deserve what is happening to us.

It's pure victim blaming and it's not done yet, there's a Confessore piece in the works with the same framing.

I need cis people to understand that if this bill passes, thousands of trans people will die.

That's not hyperbole. That's not sensationalism. That's fact.

You know the genocide of trans people in the United States you refuse to acknowledge? It's here.

While I'm on the general subject of "AI," let me just say that it's a real dickheaded maneuver to tell an actual artist that their work "looks like AI." Their work doesn't look like "AI" because they're aping what "AI" does; it looks like "AI" because the "AI" company fucking stole from them.

🖤 May Day means solidarity with ALL workers, including sex workers, incarcerated workers, undocumented workers, criminalized workers, and disabled workers.

When we say “an injury to one is an injury to all,” we’d better fucking mean it. 🖤

There's not a single crime in the history of the UK that would have been prevented by a bathroom bill. Not one

Bathroom bills aren't about safety, they're about trying to exclude LGBT people from public life. That's it

People will say this is the result of a presidential election, and that’s partly true. But the Constitution does not delegate tariff power to the president, and he is only able to impose these ruinous, peace-destroying taxes because Congress has let him do so. Congress can end this at any time.

If you want to go one step further, you can also bump up your contribution to account for Patreon’s cut, so the creator actually gets the full amount of the subscription (this does unfortunately require math)
So #Apple now not only charges you a huge tax to sign up to a creator on Patreon, they also don't give your Patreon money to the creator for 75 days. I'm sure android does similar. If you want to support a creator on #Patreon, just sign up via the website and boycott all those taxes.

Just so everybody understands, Booker has been speaking cogently about the issues the entire time and Strom Thurmond famously spent hours reading from the encyclopedia, because segregationists were and are dumbshits
If Sen. Cory Booker makes it to 7:19 p.m. EST, he will break segregationist Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond's record for his 24 hour 18 minute Senate floor speech against the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
