There have been no good reasons for staying on Twitter for years now, but at this point you will have to follow up any of your remaining excuses with “…and I don’t care about the child pornography.”
This does seem just a little bit bad! Idk the sort of thing you’d think politicians might distance themselves from or something!

Not really discussed that often but one of the secondary & tertiary reasons Israel's public image has so rapidly declined among the youth in countries like the US, UK and Germany is because of behavior like this.

Petulant, circular, nonsensical, extremely whiny. It doesn't make *Mamdani* look bad.

DC Statehood needs to be a Day 1 priority, the one place the Guard aren't being withdrawn is where there is no federalism to protect citizens from presidential overreach. This can never happen again.

Well folks, some news. Ownership is folding @pghcitypaper.com. I wish I could say this was more surprising. I'll be on the lookout for new roles while I continue to teach and hopefully find places to publish some stories I haven't finished. In the meantime, I'm all ears for opportunities.

is it not a common experience for sites to do this when they receive a huge influx in traffic driven by weird men deciding to hunt daycares?

What fascinates me is how all of these countries would vote in, or have already voted in, their local equivalents of Trump with a minimum of fuss.
How popular is Donald Trump in Western Europe? December 2025

🇮🇹 -52 net favourability (+1 from Nov)
🇫🇷 -56 (+3)
🇪🇸 -58 (+4)
🇬🇧 -59 (=)

when Joe Biden's intraparty approvals got like maybe one-third this bad the Democratic Party correctly panicked so hard it engineered and executed a vote of no confidence in a presidential system that doesn't actually have any real mechanism to do that
I mean look at these graphs - 82% of 2024 Green voters disapprove of Starmer, 64% of LDs and 53% of the Labour voters *who explicitly voted for him less than two years ago.* That is not normal. I suspect it may be unprecedented.

One thing that makes me depressed is that we’re bringing back medieval blood libel for minority groups (Haitians and Somalis in particular) and where once normies would be shocked or ignorant, now they’re saying stuff like “perfidis Judaeis-cels be seething over Good Friday chads” bc of TikTok

the thing that really yanked me up short on economic doomerism was steven kotkin noting that the american economy has basically kept chugging along for *two hundred years* not giving a shit who is in the white house

america, it turns out, is much much much fucking bigger than the federal government
Yes, the Orange Special Boy is Very Bad. Yes, the fiscal policy is Even Worse. Yes, democracy is in peril. And still, the United States is not going to experience a "sudden stop" debt crisis, get shut out of bond markets, experience a currency crash, or have hyperinflation. This is not how it works.
Again, to paint a compelling story of major spikes in US borrowing costs, <let alone> a hard fiscal/debt crisis, because our debt/GDP ratio keeps increasing, you have to have an explanation of where investors are going to put their money <instead> of USTs. I'll wait.

A scorched boat washed ashore on a remote beach in Colombia. Then mangled bodies. And then empty packets, a few with marijuana traces. We matched the physical and digital evidence to a U.S. airstrike — and found a fishing community terrified to go to sea. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/29/w...

Look, I’ve said before that President Trump doesn’t give a shit about anything, that he’s basically retired, and you don’t just have to take my word for it: you can take his!
Q: China is doing naval exercises to encircle Taiwan

TRUMP: I have a great relationship with President Xi and I don't believe he's gonna be doing it

Q: Does it worry you?

TRUMP: No. Nothing worries me.

something very important for Dems to realize is that the tech overlords are not people you can win back by promising a lighter touch and saying a few nice things

they’ve gotten a taste of mask-off fascism and they are not going back, they don’t want to play nice with the peons anymore
There’s a funny Politico story showing that the latest polling on AI shows 80-20 in favor of heavy regulations, an absolute slam dunk platform, but Dems are worried about not winning back mask-off tech CEO donors

The President of the United States appears to be getting regular IV infusions, the public doesn’t know anything about it, & the DC media evidently doesn’t care.

We are months into the mystery of Trump’s hands, the White House is lying, & I’ve seen a grand total of one serious news story about it.
Trump looked pretty rough today -- note that both of his hands are discolored
