You know what, we do movie prompts all the time and I enjoy them but where my real heads at, 1 like = 1 favorite heavy metal album
Beautiful way to send out Tanahashi, not just working around his body but actively calling attention to why he couldn’t go on with Okada relentlessly going after his legs. And it’s insane how good Tana can still make moves look, even as his ginger running gives away how much pain he’s in. #njwk20

I certainly don’t think Ted Turner (the most Looney Tunes billionaire to ever live) intended this as some master plan, but the noteworthy shift from TV driving a stake into the heart of the Vietnam War and CNN selling the first Gulf War and beyond as a thrilling movie was a sea change
the most braindead kind of take in these situations. we've had the unquestioned power to turn most countries into glass parking lots for most of our lifetimes. who on earth is still impressed by this?

I’m tbh less embarrassed at this point by full MAGA chuds than the liberals who respond to any post on the internet by someone in a different country about how sick they are of America the rabid dog state with “ummm MANY of us didn’t vote for him.” Insipid reflex.

There have been a number of lucrative company aces in the history of wrestling—Sammartino, Misawa, (ugh) Hulk—but maybe no one individual has been more responsible for a company’s literal survival than Tanahashi was for NJPW.
Hiroshi Tanahashi has officially retired from professional wrestling.

One of the absolute greatest to ever do it, and getting to watch him in real time has been a privilege.

Go Ace. Thank you, Tanahashi.

Immediately cashing in my once a year exception to never sharing a MY take even for dunks, but the sheer lack of effort spent to lie us into this is resulting in us speedrunning the “I was wrong but for the right reasons/others were right for the wrong reasons” faux-mea culpas from 06-08
Incredibly funny that this is the closest Matty Yglesias will ever get to admitting he was wrong about American empire. “Looks like that leftist was right. Like a fucking IDIOT”

the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches

I’ve managed to get my time running a 10K down to below an hour, which I know is profoundly mediocre for anyone who actually runs but as someone who used to get completely gassed after a single lap on the track in PE it’s good enough for me.

Many Americans woke up to a sick sense of deja vu. Under the guise of liberty, an administration of warmongers has lied to justify an invasion and is dragging us into an illegal, endless war so they can extract resources and expand their wealth. 1/2

it's crazy how many statements by elected democrats on the Venezuela stuff are like "wow that was freaking awesome. unfortunately, however, you didn't ask for my permission to do it (would have said yes btw)"

Got tripped up by the word “pioupious” in this Rimbaud poem and looked on the other page to see it translated as soldier, so I said it out loud with French phonetics and started laughing out loud, my main literally called them “pew-pews” like a child playing with GI Joes

I was very glad last year to see a big revival of old-school, pre-Skrillexification dubstep but was chatting about it with a British friend earlier and realized it was perhaps an indicator of a somehow even worse resurrection of the Bush-Blair era.
The government had long wanted @a transition of power” in Venezuela and kidnapping a president is a super simple way to do it - well done everyone - it’s Satan I feel sorry for , such company for eternity

Perhaps now people will stop wishcasting about the US military refusing illegal orders. That's not a thing that happens. The 100% compliance rate with using civilian boats for target practice was a bit of a tell.

People are going to try and lure you into debates about whether Maduro was a good guy or not and the thing is, it doesn’t matter for the purposes of discussing whether violent kidnappings and extrajudicial murders by the US government are ok. No, they aren’t! End of convo.
