Sara is so fucking smart, and this book is lightning in a bottle. People calling it Anne Rice fanfiction are paranoid losers looking for a fight.
The response to The Red Sacrament has been overwhelmingly positive so far. I'm so grateful and happy and truly can't wait for it to reach readers in 2026! But I've also had less positive responses from fans of Anne Rice/TVC, and I want to clarify some things about the book.

What I liked best about When The Wolf Comes Home is the plastic, slippery quality of its reality. It's has the flavor of Nightmare On Elm Street but a leaner, meaner, faster shape and also made me feel absolutely sick to my stomach about D-A-D
