Paris, 1869. A theatre troupe of vampires and the strange, alluring visitors who shatter their status quo…a city of gilded opulence on the brink of siege, revolution and massacre. totally, fatally obsessed with this gorgeous cover design by Julia Lloyd at @titanbooks.bsky.social for my debut novel THE RED SACRAMENT! Ahhh!!!
They told us in school that at the first appearance of The Furies in Aeschylus' The Eumenides the audience circa 450 BCE was so horrified that children had to be carried out unconscious and pregnant women miscarried

recently I went into the Harry Potter Experience in Flatiron to use the bathroom. lots of decor and “environmental storytelling” but the bathroom was tiny, totally ordinary, and tired-looking with scratches and scars on the fixtures. In the IP’s heyday it would have been whimsical as fuck in there

In 2016 I was working a horrible cruise ship overhire job in an Italian shipyard. We were getting bused from a Holiday Inn to the ship and back at like 6 in the morning and 10 at night. On that job a guy screamed at me over a sewing machine, and I do mean screamed. his eyes POPPED! terrible

This movie is FABULOUS
I reviewed 2019's CARMILLA, the exquisitely beautiful and refined debut feature by Emily Harris and, to me, the definitive adaptation of le Fanu's novella. Gorgeous film about repression, sexual awakening, and the violent maintenance of hegemony culture.

The ChatGPT pull-up commercial is so funny bc if you actually read the advice that scrolls by super fast it’s just like “go to the gym and do pull-ups” but in an instructional tone. This is the revolutionary use case they are spending untold millions of dollars to pitch to the general public
