In the 2010s I wrote a short novel for children (never published). Eventually I realised it wasn't a children's story after all, and rewrote it for adults.
But when it was still #kidlit I did some illustrations for it, inspired by John Burningham. I'll share some below.

I would like to see one thousand movies about disabled characters by disabled directors before I see another movie about a guy who became disabled because he did a bad thing that he feels bad about.
Moral injury is exhausting to watch on constant repeat.

Watched the first (free) episode of Pluribus.
Yes, it fully held my attention. But I’m not sure I want to spend any more time with this woman.
I also don’t trust Vince Gilligan with female characterisation.
So I’ll at least wait til they’ve all dropped before paying to see the rest.

This is maddening. There’s an article on the Diabetes Australia website from 2022 linking Covid to diabetes.
But no. It’s the “lifestyle choices” of “women” rather than “vax and relax”.

Watched it with @eviljoy36.bsky.social and we found a lot to talk about.
Here are my thoughts...

My 17yo son who has #MEcfs was invited to a party last night. His first ever teen party.
I’m relieved to say it was a great success. He didn’t last as long as the others ofc & took extra pain meds but the other kids all looked after him. He’s on cloud nine and I wish he had socialisation every day.
