a lot of this is in the article but truly, "how fast can you gun it through a crosswalk going right on red against the walk while you're looking left at oncoming traffic" is the go-to automotive performance metric and what the fuck man

This metric is meaningless, because *all* EVs offer lightning-fast acceleration that far exceeds what anyone needs day-to-day.

I cannot stress enough that the American people protested, donated, subscribed, and voted in record numbers in 2018 and 2020 and then those institutions that they propped up in opposition to Trump sought to accommodate him instead. And here we are.
I continue to think that we won’t see a 2017-style liberal media addiction/subscription surge. Anger at how the media covered this, no more sense that something could break and end his presidency… I just see a lot of people tuning out for a bit.
